What You'll Get
Dating has historically been difficult for sandwiches, whose hard, crunchy shell often hides their soft, complex interior from potential suitors. Get to know these forlorn foodstacks and their extended families with today's Groupon to Sweet & Savory in Carmel. Choose between the following options:
- For $10, you get $20 worth of sandwiches, baked goods, and more.
- For $40, you get $100 worth of catering services.
Chef Melissa Mudd cultivates original comfort-food recipes in the friendly-staffed kitchens of Sweet & Savory. Pop into her spritely new café for a gourmet sandwich stack, such as the succulent LondonPort beef tenderloin, accented with pepper-jack cheese, garnishes, and horseradish dressing ($6.49). The Kentucky Hot Brown is a southern ode to warm hospitality, served open faced with turkey, bacon, cheese sauces, and smothers of warm, buttered hugs ($7.25). Pair plates with signature side dishes ($1.49 each), including crisp coleslaws and baked potatoes, and wash down lunch with an enticing array of refreshing beverages.
Those entertaining visions of grandiose grazing for their next gathering can enlist Sweet & Savory's catering services to style a spread. Start with hors d'oeuvres trays, with andouille potato cakes ($18/dozen), or try refreshing fruit platters of melon and berries ($30+). A full range of soups, salads, and entrees eases hosting anxieties while minimizing the risk of apron-induced asphyxia. End meals on sweet notes of mini cupcakes ($15/dozen), fresh fruit pies ($12.50), and a broadcast of Air Supply's Greatest Hits in its entirety.

About Sweet & Savory
When party hosts sit down with Sweet & Savory chef Melissa Mudd, she listens carefully to what they envision, then helps them plan a menu to match the event. An office gathering might get a lineup of party trays. An elegant party might center on herb-roasted beef tenderloin with stone-ground mustard, or even a custom chocolate-zucchini wedding cake. Once the menu is decided, she and her team make everything from scratch, scorning time-saving measures such as premade icing.
Even when there's nothing in particular to celebrate, the aroma of freshly baking focaccia lures guests into Sweet & Savory’s café and bakery throughout the day. For breakfast, chefs drown buttermilk biscuits in housemade sausage gravy, and sauté bananas in brown sugar and dark rum to create bananas-foster buttermilk pancakes with vanilla crème anglaise. Later in the day, they heap slow-cooked barbecue pork on onion buns, then craft tartines with fire-roasted shrimp and corn relish, which pairs nicely with chilled soup or a salad drizzled with peach-champagne vinaigrette. Dinners can also be taken home to families or nests of baby birds, along with pies, cheesecakes, and other desserts.
