Eating a hearty steak makes a man more kingly than wearing a crown or banishing the dog to a small island in the South Atlantic. Get the royal treatment with today's Groupon: for $21, you get an all-you-can-eat Rodizio dinner at Via Brasil Steakhouse (a $42.95 value).

Deemed one of the best ethnic restaurants in Las Vegas in 2010, Via Brasil Steakhouse is a churrascaria oasis in the middle of the valley, with a vast inventory of gracefully grilled cuts as well as herbivorous options. Your Groupon is good for a prix fixe jaunt through an all-you-care-to-eat Rodizio dinner, during which dutiful beef baristas visit the table, touting skewered spears of everything from prime rib to Brazilian-style sausage, which—unlike most domestic sausages—speaks fluent Portuguese and consistently dominates international soccer tournaments. Also available are prime cuts of flank steak and legs of lamb. A total of 16 meats comprise the Rodizio dinner, and a gourmet salad bar includes more than 30 possible options. A plethora of side dishes instill confidence in the entrées by whispering messages of personalized encouragement in their general direction.

Via Brasil Steakhouse boasts a luxurious interior, seating 250 expectant diners ready for edible euphoria. Its décor echoes both the cobblestoned streets of Brazil and the Copacabana beach, but dining in Garfield-themed swimwear remains strongly discouraged. Surround yourself with steak's greatest hits, and use today's Groupon for an elegant, carnivorous night out.

Via Brasil Steakhouse rakes in positive reviews from Las Vegas Weekly, and the Las Vegas Review-Journal gives the eatery an "A". More than 20 Yelpers give it a four-star average rating, 15 Citysearchers give it an average of five stars, Gayot gives it a 14 out of 20, and 87% of Urbanspooners like it.

  • This is a vast, expensively decorated restaurant, staffed by captains in classy black suits and gauchos who slice meat from skewers brought to the table on rolling carts. – Max Jacobson, Las Vegas Weekly
  • Carnivores will be satisfied with more choices of pork ribs, rib-eye, sausage, leg of lamb and flank steak. The Brazilian meal is never complete without a caipirinha, and Via Brasil does it right with cachaca rum, fresh muddled limes and a bit of sugar. – Gayot
  • Via Brasil is definitely an indulgence of diet-destroying proportions. But what a way to go. – Heidi Knapp Rinella, Las Vegas Review-Journal

Via Brasil Steakhouse

From its 1978 opening in New York City, Via Brasil Steakhouse has withstood the test of time and critics to bring the churrascaria tradition to diners on both ends of the country. At the stately Las Vegas restaurant, South American traditions come through not only in the more than 18 meats that grace tables but also in the way each one is prepared and served. The special churrascaria cooking traces its origins to southern Brazil's gauchos, who wound down their long days of herding cattle on the Pampas by roasting cuts of beef over crackling fire pits and writing up formal business proposals for opening steak houses in America. Today, chefs continue that tradition by roasting slabs of meat on rotisserie grills, then slicing each one tableside in order to give diners the exact cuts and temperatures they desire.

Inside the restaurant, an opulent surrounding of marble columns and countertops, floral centerpieces, and huge, sunny windows complement smartly dressed servers as they tote skewers to tables and carve off tender morsels of top sirloin, leg of lamb, and salmon. Selections from 16 side dishes garnish each savory cut of meat with exotic ingredients such as hearts of palm and yucca fries, and a salad bar urges diners to help themselves to more than 30 unique recipes. To complement the feasts, an ample wine cellar and a resident sommelier help diners bring out the rich flavors of each dish with expert advice on the dozens of bottles from around the world.
