What You'll Get
Creativity can strike at any moment, whether you're near a canvas and brushes or beside a slumbering strongman and many rolls of toilet paper. Learn to recognize opportune moments with today's Groupon: for $35, you get a BYOB painting class for two at Wine, Paint & Canvas in Hope Mills (a $70 value). This Groupon is valid for themed classes on Thursday and Friday evenings.
At Wine, Paint & Canvas, artists of all levels gather to manipulate pigments under the guidance of an experienced teacher. Pairs should arrive at the studio about 15 minutes early to claim an easel and get acclimated with their supplied brushes, canvas, and paint. Students can also use the time to loosen up and pop open beer bottles, pour glasses of wine, or inject carbonation bubbles into leftover gravy. Throughout the actual class, the teacher will guide the group through basic strokes and painting techniques to replicate a sample painting, but participants are free to add their own creative flair. Class themes include a variety of still-life subject matter, such as pumpkin pie, fall leaves, and martini glasses, and artists leave the two-hour session with a finished piece of artwork.

About Wine, Paint & Canvas
Deborah Reavis, the resident artist at Wine, Paint & Canvas, has nearly two decades of teaching art under her belt, making her an excellent tutor for classrooms full of fledgling painters of all ages. Seated in front of rows of provided easels and surrounded by the works of past classes, students follow their instructors’ directions to produce the evening’s piece. Though everyone works from the same template, each student has the chance to stylistically personalize their work by mixing colors or painting only the coolest facial hair on self-portraits. Before brush touches canvas, guests can mingle over glasses of BYO wine and bottles of beer, with soda available for purchase.
