Great Hotel- but no AC We loved this hotel for its location- close to both Beaver Creek and Vail villages. The pool is wonderful, and the staff are very helpful. However, the lack of AC in rooms is a big deal in the summer. The room felt 20+ degrees hotter than the hallway that does have AC. While the rooms have fans- we felt uncomfortable trying to balance an aggressive fan in our face while sleep with combatting the excessive heat. While we overall had a great experience, we would not stay again in summer until AC is installed in units.

Lacking in Cleanliness We checked in to the Sheraton Mountain Villas hoping to have a great stay with access to the Avon rec center. We had read reviews and were prepared for no AC so we requested a high floor for better air from the windows. We could not leave the patio door open for breeze because we have small children that could walk out and that is a safety hazards. So the rooms got extremely hot during the day and night. We used the fans but that did not help much. When we entered the Villa, it was a lot smaller and run down than it looks in the pictures. It was a tight fit for the four of us. When we walked in, we noticed the carpet was dirty. When we grabbed some plates from the cabinet, they were dirty with food scraps stuck on them. The shower floor had stains and there was a hair on the glass door. The patio floor had cigarette ashes on the floor. The pull out mattress had brown stains. The kitchen cabinets were sticky and dirty. The oven drawer was broken. We had planned to prepare food, but decided against it. The utensils were worn, the cabinets were dirty with dust and food particles inside. The strainer had old food stuck to it. Overall, we were disgusted with the room. We went to the kids/game room. We were disappointed that you had to pay $1 for each game. When we placed the money into the foosball game, there was no ball so we were unable to play. The skeeball game was also broken. There was only one ping pong table. We were just disappointed overall with the game room. The Avon rec center next door was very nice, but we thought this hotel gave complimentary passes like the Sheraton Lakeside, but they do not. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the hotel.

Mistake. On the positive side, rooms are large and well equipped (including a hot tub in the bedroom, if you like that sort of thing) but, there is NO Air conditioning. Windows open but adjacent highway is noisy. Hotel great if it was 1980. I would not stay here again.

Solid hotel, but no AC We stayed two nights in a one-bedroom suite. The room size was adequate and it had a full kitchen with balcony. The room was clean and staff was friendly. My big complaint is the lack of AC. I didn’t realize it didn’t have AC until I got a welcome email a couple days prior. If I would have known, I would not have booked. We have two little kids so we would come back to the room for some down time in the afternoon. The room was really hot and uncomfortable during the afternoons. It cooled off okay at night, but we had to have the fans running at full blast. I know that other mountain hotels don’t have AC either, so this isn’t completely uncommon. For me, this is a non-negotiable. I have previously stayed at the Westin and will go back there for future stays. I give this hotel a solid three stars and was basically comparing it to my previous stays at the Westin, which has a better location/view and it more upscale. As long as you go here when the weather isn’t sweltering hot, I think it is a decent hotel. It would also be good for families who want to cook in because you get a full kitchen and grill.

Surprise: No air in these hotel rooms! Hotel doesn’t have air conditioning!! There’s nothing on the Sheraton reservation website that indicates this hotel doesn’t provide air conditioning in the rooms. We tried to cool off the room in the evening by leaving the patio door open… but are flooded by cigarette smoke drafting up from the room below. Beaver Creek and Vail have many nice hotels to stay at. Choose another.
