Great property unless no cookies is a dealbreaker! It's amazing the things people complain about. Cookies?? Really?? One idiot actually posted that would be a reason for not staying at this hotel!! A lot of other stupid, petty complaints, someone complained about the USB chargers in the wall not working. Who travels without USB cables for your devices?? People are amazing. Anyway this is my go to hotel in Bakersfield, I was there last weekend, I was driving from the LA area, bad weather forced me to leave much earlier than I had planned, wanted to beat the storm. Arrived in Bakersfield at about 9 am just as it began raining, called the hotel to see if by chance I could check in early. I knew it was a long shot on a Sunday morning. Of course I was told that check out wasn't until 12 and the room was still occupied. Oh well, I guess I was going to find a restaurant to have a long, extended breakfast or brunch. 10 minutes later I contacted the hotel again and asked if they could expedite the cleaning of my room and suggestions for a nice restaurant. Albert responded, gave me a suggestion but then told me that my room had been cleaned and I could check in now!! It was 9:30 am!! I'll take that over a cookie!! I was a bit concerned that they may have rushed the cleaning of my room but when I arrived, it was immaculate. My room was huge, I highly suggest the junior suite, it's about 800 sq ft, full dining room table with 6 chairs and a comfy sofa. Bathroom is also huge. Love this hotel There is one issue I had while staying there, this is the third time I've dined at the restaurant, breakfast is fine, actually very good but the two times I had dinner there were both horrible. I had the shrimp pasta dish, it was below average. During my last visit, against my better judgement, I decided to try it again since I was tired and didn't feel like going out. Ordered the steak, it was top 10 worst steaks I've ever had. Just awful, I was barely able to finish it. I've had much better steaks at Denny's. However, bad dining and no cookies are not reasons for me to not return to this wonderful hotel. There is a bakery across the street (I'm sure they have cookies) and dozens of dining options within 10 minutes of the hotel

Bakersfield Hilton found Wanting We checked in with two adults, two children(10-12). Our room was supplied with two towels. Towels were requested at 4:00 pm. At 10:45 night manager said we could walk down and get our own towels as property with 200+ units did not have housekeeping on site, and the only technician was dealing with air conditioner problems. Carpet was worn in room and appeared dirty. Extra sink is in the commode room so that we had to share with family members eliminating while washing our hands. Everyone who served us seemed stress and very unhappy. Food orders were not completed and we had to remind an overworked waitress. On our way back we stayed at the Marriott. It was a pleasure. Rooms even had a pen and piece of paper. Towels were sufficient. Rooms were freshened and carpet new. And price was $50 less with CSAA discount.

Doubletree nice hotel in Bakersfield The hotel is very clean. The grounds are well kept. I did get my cookie at check in as I did see a review that there was no cookie lol. The rooms are the best yet in Bakersfield. They included a fridge but no microwave. The bathroom was modern with Evelyn and Crabtree soaps and shampoos. As a gold member I stayed 3 nights and was comped $15 as a gold member, the breakfast was better then Marriott’s “free” breakfast however I still don’t think it was worth the $16 they charge for it and the coffee was $4. The pool was nice not heated, however to get towels don’t forget to ask the front desk for them. The pool is not heather and the hot tub jets are way off and shoot water up into the air? A tour bus full of French tourists stay in Bakersfield on Tuesdays at every hotel in Bakersfield so FYI to that as well. The gym is nice and had the major equipment very modern and the treadmill liked up to my Apple Watch! Loved that as even at my Gold’s gym they do not offer that. Overall it was a pleasant trip.

Don’t get swayed with the brand name Stay away from this hotel! This was one of the worst hotel stays in my life. They gave us a room near the highway and there was no basic sound proofing there. I asked to change the room and they gave an excuse that there is no vacancy. Such a lie! I travelled with my wife and small kid and we couldn’t sleep for a minute because of the highway noise.

Updated Rooms, Friendly Staff Traveling with a friend, we had no reservation when we rolled into town on a Friday night. This is a decent area of town, so we went to the front desk where we got the best internet rate from the friendly clerk. The hotel seems to be a conference center as all of the spaces inside and out are cavernous, including the rooms. We stayed in a double queen and it was newly refurbished, with very modern finishings and comfy beds. Being a Hilton Honors member, the TV had a welcome message on it with my name included by the time we got up to the room, which was a fun surprise. Breakfast is not included, so we didn't partake in their on-site restaurant, but instead went to the other side of Hwy 99 where a Denny's and IHOP are located. I travel for work and periodically find myself in Bakersfield. I will definitely request this hotel in the future.
