Perfect balance between international chain and Berlin original We loved our six nights at this hotel in Mitte across from the Gendarmenarket, it surpassed our expectations. We are frequent world travelers with high standards, so appreciate things like good water pressure, easy-operate showers, intuitive light switches/master switch, unlimited (glass) bottled water, a firm bed with multiple pillow choices, etc. We appreciated the uniqueness of the Prussian/modern mash-up artwork and other whimsical historical touches (e.g., ceramic potatoes at check in). Our favorite aspect was the two staff at the registration desk who also served as concierges. All but one was truly excellent and customer-centric; Kristoff stood out above the rest for exceptional empathy and knowledge of Berlin. He helped us find several trip-changing restaurants and sites and made other recommendations that made a huge difference to our stay in Berlin. The breakfasts were amazing, and we were delighted that Bonvoy status turned them from a city expensive to free!

Highly recommended Excellent property, great location. Rooms are updated with nice bathrooms. Good breakfast and attentive staff. Thank you to Kristopher from the front desk. Spa was relaxing and nice. This was the best Marriott I have stayed in and I do about 90 nights per year.

Excellent choice in Berlin Excellent hotel. Good location. . Top notch service with very friendly and helpful staff. . Loved the breakfast. Rented bicycles for a day. And kept them until evening. Very happy with our room. Overall great experience. Stayed in several hotels in Switzerland and Germany on this trip and this was our favorite.

Stylish hotel with wonderful staff and a perfect location! Stylish hotel with wonderful staff and a perfect location! Stayed here for 5 days while on vacation and it was perfect. The staff were very polite and helpful during check-in and with arranging transportation to the airport. The location is fantastic - quiet yet only steps aways from the sights, shopping, restaurants and transportation. Highly recommend! Try to get a room with a view onto Gendarmenmarkt (my room had a small balcony)

Small room despite high price, extra charges imposed without prior consent. The queen room with balcony is extremely small despite its high price. One day our room was not cleaned so we had to wait… very frustrating. Didn’t like the 50 euros per night extra charge as a deposit… should inform and consent beforehand! Breakfast is quite good with choices. Overall hotel experience mediocre.
