Many lodging options Friendly people, wide variety of lodging options. Safer to enter and exit from the side roads than from the main road. My room was in the 1990s black and white building next to the road. It had road noise because the window was open to plumb in the exhaust hose from a portable air conditioner. Gaps in the sealing let in some road noise. It is now after cooling season, so I suggested taking the hose out and closing the window. That will keep the room quieter and let people fully close the blinds. Like many 1990s buildings, the rooms had no central lighting. So, the main room and the bathroom are a bit dark. In the next renovation, it would be good to provide more power sockets. I had to unplug the fridge and microwave, then balance the coffee maker precariously on top of the portable AC to plug it in. Few sockets for our devices. Good coffee shop across the road!

Outside looks nice . Rooms however need updating. First room was terrible . Shared door with another room . Walls paper thin. Second room slightly better . Again rooms need updating. Beds were hard and squeaked whenever You move, bathroom door had been damaged. Bed trim was tattered and coming off or missing. On good thing was the breakfast. It was well stocked and had some good food. Wish the room was as good as the breakfast.

Like grandma's house To be clear, this is not a luxury resort. My family stayed in one of the Chalets with a loft for the kids. Pros: It was a cute, quaint, slightly kitschy lodge. Everything was in mostly working order. The room was warm and welcoming. The facility in close to the center of whatever you want to do in Big Bear Lake. Cons: The carpet was a bit worn, and frayed. The towels were scratchy. The walls are thin, and we could hear the neighbors. The carafe did not seem to fit the coffee pot properly, and water got all over the counter. Fortunately, I was only running water through it, and removing the lid of the carafe sovled the issue. Other guests liked to walk their very large dogs by our unit to relieve themselves and didn't pick up after them, I have to concede there is little the management can do on that count unless they witness the guest walking the animal. Ultimately, we found the room to be exactly what we expected based on photos and reviews. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
