Boutique hotel a delight It was lovely to stay in a hotel built 100 years ago and beautifully restored. The architecture made our stay fun and so different from the regular road side hotel. We loved the wood floors and claw foot bath tub. The downstairs common areas were furnished with books and games.

Beautiful Stay in Historic Home We booked one night at the Blackwell Hotel on our way through Coeur d'Alene. We stayed in room 3, which was a corner room on the second floor with a fireplace, king bed, and big bathroom (given the age of the building). Our room was clean and well appointed, and we loved the furniture on the veranda as well as the common spaces on the main floor. There is no built in AC, but there was a small unit and fan in our room to help with the stifling heat. Communication prior to check in was helpful, as well as the guide provided for the area. The neighborhood is beautiful to walk through, and we ventured to the Winehouse for some wines by the glass and flatbreads which were delicious. In the morning we were treated to a full, hot breakfast at 9am served in the common area of the home, which added to the great value of this stay. We would absolutely stay here again.

The Blackwell is the Luxury B&B experience in Idaho! The Blackwell is fabulous in every way. We have been staying here since 2020…. The best, most comfortable place in CDA. Definitely a 5 star experience. Service and amenities are first class …and the daily breakfast is so amazing and delicious. Can’t wait to return❤️

Charming Hotel that Feels like Home! A charming, historical hotel! Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The communication for arrival was timely and clear (we even got I early). The keyless entry went smoothly. Street parking was easily available. Our room was large and had all sorts of comfort: king size bed that was very comfortable, air conditioning unit, fans, chairs, coffee station. Our bathroom was across the hall (everyone else on the floor had their bathroom in their suite) and private. The one caution I would give is that it is a claw foot tub/shower and isn’t handicap accessible. The hotel has lots of rooms for socializing, playing cards, etc. The breakfast was very delicious with lots of options! Its location is ideal for walking to the lake and to down town where there are great shops and restaurants. We will be back!!!

Best place to stay in couer dalene The 2 women who manage this place are incredible! The A/C units died the day we checked in. These women were so sympathetic w all the guests the next morning. They helped all of the Big House guests w refunds. We chose to stay when they said they’d bring in more fans for us. Not only did they do that, they rented a portable A/C unit for our room! Talk about service! We had room 1 which is huge and beautiful! The bedding was wonderful! The homemade breakfasts were great! We loved our 5 night stay!
