Dishonest and Untrustworthy Staff I checked in with no issues. Once I got my belongings into the room, I decided to leave to get something to eat. I was gone for just a couple of hours. I came back and found my room looking like it had been ransacked. Cabinets and drawers opened, safe opened, cushions overturned...I thought someone had broken in because it clearly looked like they were looking for something. I reported it to the front desk. They informed me the prior guest supposedly had told them he left his laptop in the room. The hotel took it upon themselves to search my room WITHOUT MY CONSENT. They said they called the room and when no one answered, they went in. Mind you, they had my cell phone number AND my email. They could have easily called me if they really wanted to. And I would have definitely told them no. You're not entering my room and going through my belongings without me there. The staff told me they didn't touch my belongings, but I knew this was a lie. I had placed one of my strobelights (photography equipment) and stand in the corner of the sitting room area. It was well out of the way because I didn't want to knock it over myself. One of the things I noticed was it had been moved to the table and missing its battery. When I put in my back-up battery, I found the light was not working! So clearly they damaged it while moving it when it should not have been touched in the first place. Not only that, upon further inspection, I also found that my bluetooth speaker was missing. I purposely moved those items from my car to my room while I got something to eat because I didn't want something to happen to them while I was eating. Instead, something happens to them in my room that's supposed to be secure. I immediately asked to speak to the manager. I was told that is Alma Leon. I was told she wasn't working but would be in the following morning. The following morning I asked to speak with her and was again told she wasn't working and would be in the following morning. I don't know who to believe point because of the dishonesty that had already taken place up to this point. It's important to point out that I didn't even spend the night in my room. After having the knowledge that they would enter without my consent , break my equipment and steal other items, I did not feel comfortable staying there. There was no telling what they would try to do while I was sleeping. I instead spent the night at a friend's place. I'm genuinely surprised because my last stay at the Warwick years ago was very pleasant. I don't know if it's new management that allows some unsafe and dishonest protocols or what, but that was not the case this time. I'm looking forward to hearing from Warwick Melrose to make this situation right.
