Excellent spa service Spa was excellent. Kelly and Silvia were outstanding for a couples massage and the ambiance was wonderful. Tracy and Dee checked us in and were so courteous. It was a great anniversary date day! After our massage, we were treated to mimosas, tea, water, and snacks.

Should not be a hotel Indigo Worst IHG experience ever. We showed up and got a room that had a nice view but you could tell this hotel has seen better days. They were clean and minimal but everything was worn out, out dated and discolored. We were there for the scenery though so we were fine. It rained that night and once the rain stopped we stepped out of our room and into a big puddle. Whatever we were not letting these things bother us. We were just grabbing something from the car. But when we went to get back in the room just after 1am. The door didn't work.we tried both cards, nothing. The front desk gave us 2 new ones still nothing. She made another, still nothing. We then waited outside our room which is out side at 1 am in the cold and wet as she went to grab the master key to let us in. She came back with some keys but none of them worked because they were "labeled wrong". Everything we had brought with us was locked in the room. Food, water, toiletries, clothes, wallets, etc. So we couldn't leave this place if we had wanted. The front desk person said they contacted the GM but he wasn't answering because he was probably asleep. The next person on shift wouldn't be there until 645am and the maintenance guy wouldn't get there till 8 am so she was just going to have us wait until someone came in or responded. Well lucky us she was going to give us another room to wait in. The room she picked was in a dark corner of the same building. It was even more run down and had a view of a couple of parking spaces. Of course I couldn't really sleep because I wasn't even able to get completely ready for bed due to being locked out from everything I had. By 630 I was already in the lobby seeing if they had a solution. Still no. I can't go anywhere and I can't buy anything so I'm still stuck in a dingy room wearing the same thing I was wearing the day before. Finally at 7am they unlock the door to our room and call us to let us know that it's sitting open. We get to our old room with all our stuff and it was sitting ajar and unattended. We go in and start showering and packing up because checkout is 11 am giving us no time to sleep or anything. While we are packing and getting ready the call us to ask us which room we are keeping. (We are a 1 night stay and check out is in 3 hrs.) I let them know that I was leaving. They gave us free breakfast to try and make up for this. Of course it didn't because we paid to be held hostage and it ruined all our morning plans on top of not being able to sleep. After breakfast we drove home 2 hrs exhausted just to get a vacation from our staycation.

I would stay here again, the same time of year and month. This hotel was good, good location. It has a beach bungalow feel to it. My friend and I arrived at 4:00 p.m., just in time for check-in for a 4 night/5 day stay. Check-in went smoothly. You are welcomed with a cup of champagne and cute satchel of dried herbs. We also got a room upgraded. Our room was quit nice. We had a corner room (301), plenty of light with 2 private patios and a small ocean view, The actual room was updated, spacious, hard floors, mini-fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom was a bit small but was fine. It had all the liquid soaps, body wash, shampoo, conditioner but no bar soap. I always bring wipes to wipe down the room surfaces and I will say the room could of used a better cleaning of surfaces. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I worked out at the gym every morning, very small, plenty of wipes, towels and a refill water station. We took advantage of the jacuzzi, which was great. We did not eat or drink here, so I can't review. I did take note that they do have a spa and rental bikes for a fee. I would stay here again, the same time of year and month, because I could see potential annoyances if you were here during the peak season and you wanted peace and quite. There were mostly business people there during our stay. I could only assume the noise level in and around the pool and pets barking in the rooms (which I did hear a couple dogs when we were there), if your room was facing the pool you would hear nonstop. Also, oddly there is no "safe" in the room.

Superb hotel in a great location! Fantastic hotel, great staff! We stayed in one of the room near the pool on the ground floor. It was one of the king bed standard rooms and it was nice and roomy. Easy walking distance to some great bars and restaurants. Workout room is pretty good but there were no yoga mats. The WiFi was pretty variable. Despite those small points everything else was great. Will definitely be back!

Another perfect stay! This was our second stay at the Hotel Indigo Del Mar...and it won't be our last. This will be our "go to" hotel for trips to the San Diego Safari Park, which is only about 30 minutes away. We asked for a room in the North building again, and coincidentally were placed in the same room we got last visit, Room 507. We were delighted; this is a great room. Once again it was quiet. Even though there were guests on either side of us, we never heard a thing, other than the room doors closing. The only thing different on this visit is that the laundry room had moved and now has credit card (rather than coin operated) washers and dryers. A nice improvement. We got take out from nearby Bushfire Kitchen on several nights and ate at the courtyard picnic tables. Von's is nearby for stocking up beverages to store in the room's fridge. We enjoyed the heated jacuzzi at the pool at the North Building, too. For the last few nights of our vacation, we switched to Paradise Point Resort. Not only was it significantly more expensive than the Indigo, it didn't compare well in many respects, including cleanliness and noise. Next time, I think we'll just stick with the Indigo.
