Stop on the way up I5 Nice hotel, friendly staff. Very clean and quiet room. Very close to food, and gas. Not a downtown location but perfect for the quick overnight or two. Only issue is my 50 dollar deposit is still registering on my charge card. Usually most hotels have it off in 24 hours. It's been 5 days now.

Not what I expected Booked a 1 night stay as a mid-point stop for our road trip to Reno from Western Washington. Maybe I've been 'out of the loop' for too long, but I recall when Red Lions were fairly nice places -- based largely on remembering the Red Lion near SeaTac airport many years ago. When we went to our room (#106) I noticed the strike plate in the door jam was loose. When closed, the door could still move back and forth about 1/4 inch. I called the front desk and a lady came down with a screwdriver to tighten the screws. Turns out the screws (which were already oversize replacement screws) were stripped out, preventing them from being tightened. The fact that oversized replacement screws were present would indicate management had knowledge of a problem. Looking closer I noticed the door was cracked/broken near the handle, and the mechanism was dislocated towards the room side of the door which contributed to the loose fit when closed. It was apparent the door had been kicked in (or attempted to be kicked in) or perhaps slammed very hard with the dead bolt extended. The lady with the screwdriver explained that maintenance was off for the weekend and that she would report the problem. She offered to move us to another room which we accepted. We were moved one room over (#107) and the door had the same crack and damage around the mechanism, although not as severe and the door did close securely. We were tired and did not want to move a 2nd time so we stayed. It is, at the very least, unsettling to stay in a room in a strange town where the door may have been kicked in previously. The lady who assisted us, while pleasant, did not seem surprised or concerned. On the plus side, the property and rooms were clean, however the layout and the feel of the property was reminiscent of a Super 8. Another plus is the Corvette Bar & Grill across the street. I picked up a couple burgers to go and brought them back to the room. Their sign reads 'Best Burgers in Town' and they are not kidding! Next time through Grants Pass we will stop to eat there...but we won't be staying at the Red Lion.

Remodeled for your inconvenience If i could give a zero I would. Newly remodeled for the unconvinced of the customer. No elevators. Let me repeat NO ElEVATOR. So if youhave luggage you have to carry it up the stairs to your room. The lady on the desk clearly needs a replacement. She wasn't pleasent and seemed grumpy. I tried calling five times on our way to the hotel to make sure our reservations were there got no answer. When we did arrive our reservation was wrong. It was for two rooms and three people. Clearly the site I used wasn't a good site or it was the hotel because the confirmation email had it correct. I don't recommend this hotel. This is the second red lion i have stayed in and neither have been good experiences. Stay away from red lion.

Good Location, Spacious Room We were having our RV repaired and needed an overnight stay in the area. I have balance problems and needed a handicapped shower and they had a room available. The room was on the first floor, the corridor was clean and well lit, our room was clean and had no negative orders, the beds were harder than I like but OK for an overnight. Everything in the room worked well and the shower was perfect with handles everywhere so I could hold on and not tump over. We had no issues with the room, the price was reasonable and would stay again.

Quick Stop While Traveling Through The outside of the hotel looked nice as we had been traveling for 12 hours and needed to stop. When we got to our room, it smelled of stale cigarettes and pure bleach. This was a non smoking hotel so we were not expecting that. The floor was sticky and the comforters on the bed stained. People were allowing their kids to run up and down the hallway yelling until well after midnight, Upon leaving, we did encounter some bugs in the hallway as well. Will not stay there again.
