NOT PET-FRIENDLY......NOT PET-FRIENDLY This is NOT A PET-FRIENDLY Hotel despite Tripadvisor and Booking.com saying that it is. @Lake Chatuge Lodge, you should really update your listings on 3rd party sites so that people don't make the same mistake we did. We wound up cancelling our reservation since I chose to call the hotel directly to verify this and see if there was a pet-deposit. That's when I was told it was NOT PET-FRIENDLY.... So if you want to stay in the Hiawassee area - you are pretty much SOL if you want a pet-friendly place to stay.

Car Show Weekend In The Mountains I have been staying here for several years now for a big car show next door at the fairgrounds. I find the place fine for a place to sleep and get a good shower. I have no complaints. Is it five star accommodations like it seems a lot of the reviewers want? No. It is a nice place to stay close to the fairgrounds and also convenient to do some mountain riding. I do feel that even with the small discount worked out by the car club that puts the car show on it is still overpriced ($388 and change) for a Friday and Saturday night stay. Breakfast is simple but included and was sufficient. I will certainly stay again next year to attend the annual car show. One thing I would love to see is a commune fire pit out back where we, the car show organizers and participants could hang out and enjoy some relaxation after the long day we have at the show. Overall enjoy my time here every year.

A great stay and still within a budget. This is an older hotel but is being kept up well! Wonderful views from the patios, decks and balconies! Lots of quiet places to sit or gather with friends in common areas both inside and out. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The usual toiletries at the ready and the microwave and mini fridge were in good working order. Covid style service is still in effect but fresh towels or linens are only a phone call away. Our King bed was a bit soft for our tastes. The hotel might have options but we never asked. The breakfast is simple but plenty of choices. If you need a more elaborate meal the are options close by. Lots of choices for dining a quick drive away. The staff was very friendly and helpful for our two night stay. We’ll be coming back again!

Beware of this hotel! After staying at the Lake Chatuge Lodge, my husband and I had respiratory infection and pulmonary inflammation that required several visits to doctors. We saw separate pulmonologists doe to scheduling and spent over 500$ out of pocket, we’re on several different antibiotics and inhalers, aerosol treatments. Our Lund problem was determined to be due to the dusty, odorous smoke and pollution that blew out of the wall heater in our hotel room at this lodge. We contacted the hotel but NEVER heard back from anyone about our concerns and illness. It was determined not to be Legionaires disease ( thankfully) but the owners of this hotel obviously do not appear to care about their customers!! We should have taken them to court for the months we spent breathing poorly!

Outdated, Musky and Expensive! The lobby was musky smelling and our room was worse! This place and the rooms are DATED! One night 8/25 was $200+ uncalled for! Balcony had cigarette butts all over! Even encountered Ants in the room!
