NORMA NAVARRO IS NOT QUALIFIED AS A HOTEL MANAGER Where do I begin. The location was perfect for my family and I. it was right in the middle of the Boardwalk, and the Beaches such as Balandra, El Tesoro and Pichilingue. The evening staff was friendly. The day time staff, not so much. I find it interesting in hotels like this. When i arrive speaking English, they are always so friendly. When i speak my native Spanish, they are rude, the attention disappears. My family and i paid for a 1 Bedroom suite, ( mom, dad, 3 kids). The windows, the frames, the mirrors, the decor, loaded with a layer of dust. I don't have allergies of any kind, but my nose and lungs sure felt like i did once i stepped into that room. Mold and grime. All around the rim of the bathtub and bottom of the toilet. Fleas. yes fleas. They were coming out of the Master Bathroom sink. We went to report everything to the front desk, and they said none of it was possible, that they had just done a thorough cleaning of the entire room. I went back to the room, took pictures, videos, and returned to the front desk to show them. At that point ( the video of the fleas really did them in), the offered to switch me to another room of the same size. We were shown 3 other options, in the same wing, and all 3 had the same layers of dust, mold and fleas! I couldn't believe it! I complained again, and the said the staff who is in charge of cleaning that wing would be spoken to. At that point, we asked for a refund so we would simply go to another Hotel. They said it was "IMPOSSIBLE" to offer a refund. However they offered to move us to a different room in a completely different part of the hotel. The only other option was a Single King Bed room for my family of 5. I agreed to sleep on the couch, and my wife and daughters shared the king bed. I never mind sleeping on a couch, but i Paid $240 per night. I should at least be comfortable. We arrived on a Saturday, switched on a Sunday, and Monday, finally, the Manager NORMA NAVARRO was back at work. We spoke to her about everything that had happened over the weekend, and she ACTED understanding and ashamed. She reiterated that we couldn't receive a full refund ( we just wanted to leave), but she did say she spoke to her Supervisor, and they agree to refund us the difference of the cost of the rooms. They agreed to refund us $4,240 pesos. She requested my Swift Code, bank account number, home address, phone number, and address of the branch i bank at in San Diego. I was reluctant, but provided her the requested information via email, via her personal what's app, and at the front desk. She confirmed she had received the information, and promised a refund to my account withing 2 Business days. As of this writing, it has been 39 days, and i have yet to receive a refund, or a call back. I have emailed multiple times, i have called multiple times, and send messages via what's app multiple times. She has answered twice. The first time when my wife called the hotel and Norma answered directly ( probably by accident). She said it take 2 weeks for the transfer. That was 3 weeks ago. Last we spoke, was on what's app on May 9th, and she said she would speak to the accounting department, and to expect a reply withing 2 hours . Today is May 16th, and nothing. The abuse on their part, the front desk staff who answers the phone and constantly answers and covers for her, and complete lack of accountability for their issues with hygiene and basic human decency. For those reasons and more, I would never recommend any of my friend or family stay at La Concha, in La Paz Baja California Sur.

Customer service is not a priority here I could have tolerated all of the “ick” until staff packed 4 girls’ belongings into trash bags, while we were out diving for the day. This is after they sold our original rooms and offered a suite that was available (3 full beds for 4 girls). Said the room would be ours for the remainder of the trip but upon return from diving the next day, we’re told they needed to change us to different rooms. 4 peoples belongings, packed into garbage bags. A ruined tablet and chargers from lotions that were all thrown together. There are no safes available in the rooms. Staff has no regard for personal property. After staying many places in B.C.S. this hotel was the only one I wouldn’t return to.

They moved our personal belongings without permission- they put our stuff in trash bags while we were on a tour We checked in at 6pm and they told us the system was down so we could use the penthouse for our group and we could keep it for the rest of the stay (not enough beds on the penthouse for the group but okay) Next day we go on our activities and we come back at 7pm realizing the staff went in and packed our bags, our personal items where thrown in trash bags and they moved us to some horrible rooms in a corner of the hotel "upgraded rooms they said" - they lost our coats and found them the next day. We decided to leave the hotel with some of our items poorly packed - like a kindle full of body cream bc it was thrown into a body cream bag and the body cream wasn't sealed. Unbelievable! The man at front desk decided not to talk to me or look at my eyes while I was complaining. We went ahead and called the manager and said I insulted him (not true!)... he did not even apologize. He said " they are angry only bc we moved their stuff " Do not recommend at all

Great beach, good food, staff, and beverage but hotel could improve. This hotel is bargain priced so I should not have been so disappointed. First, the good. We were there Thanksgiving week which also in 2023 coincided with Mexican Veterans Day making it a three day weekend for Mexico. Consequently we shared the hotel and the wonderful beach and cabanas over the weekend before Turkey day with a lot of delightful younger Mexican family tourists which, if you speak some Spanish, even if you don't because many of them speak English, was delightful. The place was busy, and fun. But they all left that Monday evening and we were one of just a few folks, mostly Americans, left. Consequently the service which was already good became very good. The food was very good as well. But flies will be a constant bother. Staff brings out a can of sterno with some twigs, kind of worked. In the evenings, the evening menu did get a bit redundant after a few days, literally a three minute walk away is an awesome restaurant named Seaside whos' prices are comparable to the US but sooo worth it; very good food and beverage. Back to the Concha. We were in room 117 which is called a suite and is supposed to sleep four. It has two bathrooms and showers and a king bed. The second couple apparently is supposed to share a fold down hard as a rock fold-out leather couch. Which is terribly hard and has stuffing coming out. The bed is very comfortable. There is no dresser or any place to unpack ones non hanging clothing. Seriously, you must work out of your suitcase. There is a kitchenette with stove and microwave for those who wish to cook. The counter top has been used as a cutting board. By many people. The bathroom floors feature hair balls in the corners and along the baseboards which cannot be picked up as they are embedded in floor wax. The safe does not work. There are open fixtures, no cover plates. The circuit breaker box is easy to find, it has no cover. There is no need to worry about napkins or keeping the small dining table and chairs clean as they have already been well soiled. The front door requires some gymnastics until you learn how to deal with two door knobs both of which work and must be turned in unison to open the door. (I guess the dead bolt broke so they just installed a second door knob?) The beach and pool are nice with good swimming and awesome sunsets. I will go back because it is one of the few places with a decent beach and parking. I am sure things will get better, I hope so anyway.
