Return Visit to BEST WESTERN MADERO Required by my employment I had to return to Monterrey this past week and tried the Madero Best Western again. The rates thru the internet were LOWER..around 40 USD and as I mentioned once before credit cards are getting risky in Mexican hotels as the numbers get written down and used to falsify purchases on the internet. The rooms were SPOTLESS and I intentionally asked for a room on the FOURTH floor to see if the previous writer was correct about the hot water issue. The water flow and temperature were FINE and my room ample-sized and spotless. They remembered me at the lobby and also in their small restaurant where a robust meal is about FOUR DOLLARS including dessert and a pitcher of fresh lemonade. The area is to be treated with MUCH CAUTION at all times along the avenue with all the drug cartel crisis going on but I was very wary and careful in all my walking and dealings. The hotel was great and the price even better! No complaints!

Red district-unsafe zone Very small room and old furnishings truly not what is expected of a Best Western. The bed was old and creaky and the room smelled like a smokers room and the hallways were also foul smelling. The area is really run down with lots of beggars and shady people thus unsafe altogether.

Could not even stay the night This hotel is horrible, it has very nice photos in their web page and the location at the center of Monterrey make it appears a good option, nevertheless, it is awful, it lacks of parking slots, the rooms are very small, dirty, the towels were ripped and ful of holes, not white but grayish. The personnel is rude. Avoid it at any cost.

Horrible hotel I stay there on a business trip, the hotel is located in down town monterrey, I had to park on the outside of the hotel on the street, there is no elevator, you can not control the air conditioner from the room, the TV is like 25 years old, the remote control was dirty and did not work, the volume on the TV did not work, the beds are hard as a rock, the restaurant is call the cockroach "wonder why" this place should not be a Best Western at all,. spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else,.
