Night at the Lafayette! This classic hotel fits in perfectly with the whole historic NOLA experience, inclusive of the noisy streetcar that runs right outside of it. Admittedly, the hallway carpet on my floor could use a deep cleaning ( there were stains), and there was some sort of residue on the brass part of one of the slow elevators ( likely cleaning product). However, the room itself was immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were enough linen and toiletries provided. Overall, my night at the Lafayette was 4 star experience. The tone was set by my experience with the wonderful front desk services agent, Junika. ( I probably butchered the spelling of her name but, I tried.) She was very personable, helpful, and kind. So, a special thank you goes out to her.

Another refund never received I am also reporting a refund never received. Do not stay at this establishment! Luckily I made a claim against my credit card; the credit card company reversed the charges, and the hotel did not dispute. Having said that, I booked directly with the hotel when it was still a Wyndham. If you booked with a third party such as Priceline or Booking, this may not be as easy. Good luck everyone; it’s very sad that busy, hard working people have to go through this, and you think you’re protected by a cancellation policy, and you’re not.

Another person fighting for a refund... beware of LuxUrban Hotel Brands I booked a room with this hotel in November '2023 for a stay in early May of this year. I had a cancellation window up until the day before the stay. I cancelled within the required timeframe and have yet to see a refund within the promised 30 day window. We're currently well past 60 days. I have called and emailed the hotel multiple times over the last month giving them an opportunity to handle this amicably. Ive been told multiple times its because the hotel changed hands and they need to get with the group "in the other system" to verify my reservation and they will get back to me. No one ever gets back to me. I have to contact them. I have sent the email confirmation and cancellation to them from Priceline as proof that I was booked and cancelled. No one responds. I had held up on writing a review like this until I saw there are others experiencing the same situation at all the other LuxUrban properties and some of them have been waiting several months. That got my attention and has me very concerned. I've never been one to leave nitpicky reviews. Bad reviews for stained carpet in a hotel hallway aren't that big of deal to me. Continuing to accept reservations and operating a business in bad faith while holding or simply not refunding money is something else altogether. And while I haven't given up on getting a refund, after digging in to find more about the hotel chain, Im not so sure I'll ever see it. Ive done a little investigating... Google LuxUrban and their old name SoBe NY and look at reviews from other cities. O Hotel Los Angeles and The Variety Miami for example. There are customers with the same refund issue. According to other reviews I have found they have an F with the better business bureau and apparently had to rebrand due to a bad reputation. They posted a $40 million dollar loss back in April of this year. I tried to post the link as a source for that info but I think TA thought it was promotional content and rejected the review but feel free to Google the information. Wyndham dropped them from their branding back in May of this year. From the sound of things, you'd probably be better off staying in your car than to give this hotelier any money. I wish I knew that a few months ago. Their website list contact information for the company and other hotel locations. I would suggest those looking for a refund try contacting them directly to let them know of the problem you're having. And possibly warning other potential guest at their other hotels... on EVERY hotel review site you can find until you are satisfied with what you see. Ultimately you may not get your refund but you can try to make sure no one else has this problem with LuxUrban. That will be my goal for the foreseeable future or until I receive my refund.

Fighting for a refund I was booked to stay here in October 2024 and I received an email from expedia that said the hotel cancelled my pre-paid reservation although I booked 8 months in advance. I booked another hotel in the meantime as this hotel promised free cancellation up to a couple days in advance. I’ve been fighting for a refund and the hotel keeps blaming the delay in refunding me on new management. Judging by the other 1 star reviews this seems like typical behavior from this hotel. I finally gave up and disputed the transaction with my credit card.

Refused to refund a free cancellation. Not trustworthy The review is based on my experience of trying to get a refund for a booking that was cancelled within the free cancellation period. Booking was made in last June for this May. It didn't say it's a pre-pay booking at that time but they charged me in full soon after the booking was made. I was not worried as I thought if I cancel, I'd get the refund. I was wrong. I cancelled my booking in early May, and made multiple phone calls to the hotel to check on my refund and each time, the person who answered the phone gave me a different story, from didn't know the booking was cancelled to the manager would look at that soon. I called Booking.com and they confirmed to have sent the communications to the hotel to inform them of my free cancellation and asked them to process my refund. Six weeks later, no refund in sights. I have esclated to booking.com but they kept asking for a different form of proof of charge. It's obvious that the hotel doesn't not intend to refund the $950 charge to me. I'd not trust this hotel.
