Excellent location and staff The people are so friendly, especially Ms. Maxine at the reception, Mr. Theron at the door, Mr. Elliot at the bell desk. Wonderful people! The renovated room was very nice. The only drawback was the noise insulation from the hallway; something may need to be done. Otherwise very nice view and after renovations of the restaurant a marvelous experience. 5 min walk to Times Square, 10 minutes walk to Central Park.

Horrible. Horrible. Bathroom door did not close. Shabby atmosphere. Smoke detectors covered with plastic. Horrible. Never again. Front desk takes forever. They just stare into their computers looking for who knows what. Don't go.

Went from being hotel room CATFISHED to rectification by the MOD. We arrived at The Manhattan Hotel around 12am due to flight delays. Upon our arrival it appeared the lodging assigned was not the most desirable. We were not satisfied with the cleanliness, nor the lack of care for the space. We booked via third party which only showed us the updated rooms, which we were under the impression based on the conversation rates we would be assigned a premium room. After speaking with Joseph the manager on duty that evening, he was able to research our reservation and determine we are IHG members with an extensive reservation history but chose to go through third party so we wouldn’t lose points. He was able to rectify the error the following morning by ensuring we stayed the remaining three nights in a room that we deemed accommodating. He listened to our concerns and chose to proceed with excellent customer service. The remaining days were great. Note: this hotel is currently going through renovations. Make sure you look at the IHG website to verify the room you are reserving. There may be discrepancies from third party sites. Additionally as of today there are four floors renovated out of 22. Please be advised.

Beware of the pictures Beware of the pictures this hotel has up. This is not what you can expect from the manhattan at times square, yes the hotel is being renovated but not many rooms look like this. Our room had a hole in the bottom of the door, a musky smell and outdated decor. Lifts are old, hallways too. Positives are the location is brilliant and the hotel staff are excellent too. Very expensive hotel for what youre getting so sadly I wouldn't book again until it is fully renovated which will take a while. If your booking this hotel I would ask for a renovated room.

Beautiful Outer Views & Good Location The Hotel is beautiful from the outside with beautiful city views from the 16th floor. It is very conveniently located near Columbus Circle, Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, and Ellen’s Starduster Diner! Great location for walkers. I arrived by a Red Eye flight from the West Coast and Front Desk early check-in was met with ease and compassion by Senka. Despite difficulties with the check-in process and crowds attempting to check out/in, she was committed to assisting me in getting checked in so I may recover and refresh for my conference the following days. My only downside is that the hotel is in need of updated decor, painting, and carpeting which would do wonders for its reputation and star rating.
