Surprisingly good I selected this hotel solely because of its proximity to a triathlon at nearby Lums Pond State Park. I was only staying one night and looking for something cheap and close. This property was both of those, but it was also nicer than I expected. The rooms are very large and the furnishings well-maintained. There was an included breakfast buffet that was also quite good. The only downsides were a TV remote that didn’t work and an unfriendly front desk clerk when I called. It was otherwise a lot more than I expected for the price.

Absolute worst desk employee ever The night staff was kind and helpful. The room was fine except our shower (room 303) didn’t work, in the morning I asked for a new room. Employee was *immediately* crappy with me. At first I started matching her energy but stopped when it became super clear she was *crazy.* She legit yelled at me, called me a Karen for asking for a room with a functioning shower, told me she had a room with a shower but I couldn’t have it. It was legit bizarre. I had seen her yelling at another guest too but hadn’t seen the whole interaction - after my interaction I suspect the employee started the drama. I called corporate because we no longer felt safe and I had paid for two nights. The hotel manager did refund the first of the two nights but we had to find somewhere else for the second. I had booked ahead several months but luckily there are lots of hotels close in that areas so we found a better room up the street. I honestly can’t think of worse service I have ever gotten at a hotel. I appreciated the refund for the nights stay but I would have happily paid to not have that life experience. I sincerely hope that employee finds peace in life and a job away from humans.

Needs refurbishment of more than bathroom sinks This location badly needs a makeover. Stains on carpet and furniture, sticky floors and grimy appliances, bathrooms with stained and shoddy caulking, facility access doors bent and dirty and an inexcusably loud AC all made this place feel like a mid to low level motel rather than a Homewood. Initial positive discussions with reservation staff were not reflected by the front desk staff that didn’t seem very happy to be there. Sole positive point - amazing breakfast chicken tinga. A great surprise after a rough night.

Staff are excellent, hotel needs complete overhaul Staff are fantastic! Accommodations are old, frayed and smell. Floor was very dirty, sheets were stained, AC took forever to get the musty smell out of the room. There was dirt and dust on all surfaces that are clearly not cleaned every day, and there was hair around the room. The hotel owners need to do a complete overhaul and remodel. My family drives from NC to upstate NY frequently and this hotel is in a convenient location. We won’t stay here again until the hotel has been remodeled.
