Staybridge Suites Wilmington-Newark by IHG

Overnight on a road trip Picked this hotel out of the blue on a road trip. Arrived about 1 am , check-in was smooth and the desk clerk was a super nice guy. Room was very clean, smelled fresh. Bed was comfortable. Water pressure was mediocre but what do you expect on the third floor. Breakfast was decent. Overall a good experience.

Worst Hotel aka Roach Motel Experience EVER This is what I would call a motel. Pool Is shared with the even more run down Ramada which seems to be attached to this hotel. The Ramada guests have full reign of Staybridge with no staff oversight or even attempt to mitigate the issue. There is zero housekeeping even when following weekend directions for housekeeping requests. Our room was dirty upon check in the microwave had old crusty cheese and there were former guests belongings under the sink. The tub had red rings and didn’t appear to be cleaned for a long while. Breakfast was horrible and the woman manning the area despite being on a personal call was following my son and I around as we served ourselves- super awkward and uncomfortable as bk is FREE. She literally questioned how long we were looking at the BK (we were departing on serving ourselves anything as food looked weeks old) which led to a legit stare down. Upon check out, the male working the front desk on June 15 at 12pm was rude and condescendig for no reason. Never the less, my numerous thank you’s were met with dead silence. If you want your kids to be in a place where guests are doing drugs, pregnant woman smoking cigarettes, cursing at their children and using racist words stay here!

Horrible 0 stars Don’t waste your money on this run down hell hole, place is disgusting and not well maintained. Smells horrible they serve old food, looked like it was reheated for the 3rd time this week. It’s so dirty I could go on &on ____ should be an $80 per night hotel. Stay away!!!!

Overpriced for what you get Room was very comfortable. Although the heat was cranked when we arrived. Right off of I-95 which is nice. Breakfast is a joke. Tiny area to sit. We were told “once stuff is gone, we don’t replace” Never had a hotel tell me that before. I will pick a better value IHG property next time.
