Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Norfolk Airport by IHG

Almost stranded my business team My company had 4 rooms booked here in June. The hotel overbooked on us and cancelled us without our knowledge until we arrived late at night to check-in. Since it was so late, we nearly were stranded and had to find a more expensive room an hour south of this location. To make matters worse then haven't refunded my work card, and gave my other guys trouble in refunding them. Avoid staying here.

Not a good stay We stayed here for a week through Priceline, which categorized them as a 3 1/2 star hotel. It should be more of a 2. The hotel is under construction, no pool, construction working outside first thing every morning. We woke up to jack hammering and drilling every morning. No housecleaning for the first 4 days, until we mentioned it at the counter. Not a very clean hotel. The nightstands mysteriously opened all of the time. The hinge on our door was “Jerry rigged” so it could at any time fall off. It was constantly getting stuck or not closing correctly. Not the best stay at a Holiday Inn.

Appears understaffed... Positives: + Great location; many nice attractions and dining facilities within walking distances + Building appears relatively new and does not show signs of wear + Breakfast was above expectations + Ample free parking Negatives: - 3 issues reported on my first night in hotel (Monday) (1) I advised front desk that soap dispenser and shampoo dispenser were empty (2) Advised front desk that neither of the 2 phones in the room had a dial tone and were inoperable and (3) advised front desk that the room safe was locked and I could not access. Regarding the first issue of the soap/shampoo dispenser, the attendant found replacement bottles in the back office, however I was unable to replace the empty containers due to some type locking mechanism on the devices. I advised the front desk clerk who advised me that they would have the house keepers and maintenance personnel take care of these issues on the following day. Upon returning to my room on Tuesday evening I found that the housekeepers did not replace the dispensers. However, I did see signs where they had been in the room and removed the trash, but did not appear to have done anything else in the room. The shampoo/soap dispenser was finally replaced on Wednesday after I spoke with the House Keeping Supervisor. I checked out on Saturday morning; the phone and the safe were never fixed nor any explanation provided. As much as I liked the hotel location I would not stay here again.

Great place! The staff was super friendly and the room accommodations were great! The room was very clean, the beds were comfy, too! I would definitely stay here again. Very close to everything you could possibly want. I would highly recommend this place!

Very Nice We stayed here for one night prior to our cruise. The lobby is very clean and modern. Our room was spacious and very clean. There is plenty of room to rest and relax. We had a suite with two TVs which was nice. The bathroom was clean and offered body wash and shampoo, etc. in the shower. We were able to check in an hour early which was nice after driving for 13 hours. Brittney at the front desk is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and places to eat, etc. The breakfast is your normal Holiday Inn selection, but it was fresh and warm. We would stay here again.
