Lacking in experience All week long I've been trying to rehearse my review for this property. I am torn and have more negatives than positives. Based upon their website and the bonvoy app, I had a certain expectation for this property. I booked a studio kings, based on the description, photos and the desire for a patio / balcony. I adored the decor and mid century feel of the room. After a very complicated and long day of travel, we arrived to check in. We were given room 511 and told that no maps were available, and that our room was near the on site parking lot ( we didn't require the use of a bellman due to misrouted luggage). It took us about ten minutes to finally find the room. It was around the corner from the property laundry, down a narrow walkway . The room was not what I had booked or expected. I was expecting mid century glamor. The room was kndded, a one bedroom, but it looked like a college kids apartment. Stark white, void of any character, decor or charm. The properties laundry was on the other side of the room, and the lights shook when they used the laundry machines. This was not the experience that I was expecting. This type of room should be given to someone who books thru a third party website, not a bonvoy member, booking thru their app. I have no idea why we were given such a "ghetto" room, as the property was far from being high occupancy . We did utilize the Presidio pool, which was lovely, but service was non existent. We ended up ordering food and drinks at Chi Chi. The chi chi pool was closed as they were pressure washing the area. Sadly they sent me a survey four days ago, and they have yet to respond to any of my comments.

St Tropez Like Experience in Palm Springs Avalon Bungalows has truly been my home away from during my business travels to Palm Springs. I recently enjoyed my 15th (ish) visit and it was AMAZING per usual! The property is a unique blend of vintage and contemporary style, surrounded by lots of well manicured greenery. It very much reminds me of a boutique hotel I visited in the French Riveria! I've stayed at other upscale hotels in Palm Springs/ Palm Desert and the Avalon Bungalows is the most impressive, by far!! Big shout out to all the staff, including Kaylee, Juan, Jesse, Bryan among others. The valet, front desk, servers, and housekeepers are attentive, uber personable and always have great energy. Please ensure you explore the entire property, as there's a huge jacuzzi that's secluded and a fabulous spa with the BEST masseuse in the Palm Springs. Avalon Bungalows is truly a world-class experience and I'm looking forward to returning in two weeks!
