Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh Airport by IHG

RUN DOWN HOTEL - HORRIBLE - DON’T STAY HERE!!! I stay at a lot of Holiday Inns, and I’ve never seen one that is rundown like this one is. There was a distinct smoking smell in the room. While I understand you can’t control if people smoke when they’re not supposed to, but how could the housekeeper(s) not notice? The smoking smell was never addressed by the housekeepers and this room - room 344 - should never have had guests put in there.   The closest door was missing from its track. The shelf in the closet was dusty and had debris from other guests so it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. The back of the bathroom door was disgusting and the door stop long missing. Wall corners had been patched but not painted. There was a clicking noise in the ceiling above the closet all night long. Even the chair was worn. I stay at a lot of Holiday Inns, and this hotel definitely does not hold up to the high Holiday Inn standards. I stay at Holiday Inns because I know that the room will always measure up to the Holiday Inn standards … until I stayed in this one. It’s one thing for a hotel to be older, which this one obviously is, as long as it’s properly maintained and kept up versus a property which has been allowed to deteriorate. When I checked out, the gentleman asked me how my stay was and I told him I thought your hotel was really run down. He acknowledged “yes, we have a lot of work ahead of us”, so management is aware of the terrible condition of your property. I emailed the general manager Dawn Hooks about this twice and she just ignored me and never responded. Says a lot about her and this hotel!

Don’t stay at this hotel if you want to sleep well! How is this a Holiday Inn? It was not my choice to stay here and I started looking at the reviews after we arrived. Let me just say, if you are thinking about staying here based on the good reviews…DON’T! I don’t know if those people have vision problems, are hoarders or what but seriously, don’t do it! The halls are dirty and gross. The elevator is disgusting. Our room is the same color my parents had in their house during the 1970’s. As others have mentioned, the beds are EXTREMELY uncomfortable and I would guess at least 50 years old. The hotel is dirty…

The WORST Bed EVER!!! The bed is absolutely the worst bed ever. It was a wore out hard pice of crap. Nothing but springs The room was decent. I’ve stayed in some $50 rooms with better beds. I won’t be back. The young man at the front desk was fabulous. Did I tell y’all how horrible the bed was.

Standard Stay Arriving late from a flight, we stayed along our travels. It's nothing special but a good night's sleep. The staff wascourteous & helpful. The roof was clean & everything worked. Breakfast the next morning included eggs, pastires, fruit, coffee, & fruit juices.

Good choice This is basically a no-frills hotel but it offers a spacious, clean room; decent shower; good beds; fine-enough breakfast; and nice staff. When we arrived I mentioned to my son that it was hot out and the front desk clerk gave us bottles of water. They were very nice. A good place to stay.
