A+ choice I would and plan to stay here again. It was so nice, clean, good quality items in the room. We literally just used it as a place to sleep a couple of hours but I was super happy with my choice! Perks, they have a turtle at the front desk. Downside, the turtle is in way to small of a tank but that's literally my only complaint. For someone who has a small reptile zoo I did care about that.

I called for information, but forgot to make the reservation! Two or three weeks prior to our trip, I called to make a reservation and made notes for myself. Somehow, I was confused and thought I had made a reservation, but I had not. "Karen" remembered my call and honored the rate she had quoted me! (This was entirely my mistake--I so appreciated her helpfulness.) I grew up in Portland and still have relatives here but sometimes they don't have room for us to stay with them, as was the case on Memorial Day weekend. We have stayed here for Memorial Day, for reunions, for school reunions, for funerals, and sometimes anniversaries. It's a really nice, well-cared for Holiday Inn. This past weekend, I really appreciated "Karen" and her helpfulness. It's a troubling feeling when you think you have a confirmed stay and then realize, you didn't actually make the reservation! I was glad they had enough room. I had asked several questions prior to making my reservation, and it was some of those questions that Karen remembered talking to me, and could see the notes of my call in her computer. I appreciate so much the fact that they had enough room and honored the price they had quoted me. The newest thing at the Portland Holiday Inn is the pet turtle--wish my grandchildren could have been here this weekend- they would have loved that!

If you are in the area stay here Just a real nice stay. Friendly staff, clean room and recently updated I think. What a Holiday Inn Express should be. I travel very frequently and appreciate when a hotel takes pride in their property and I believe this is the case here. I would stay again and recommend to others.

Great service, perfect room! My impression started when I called for a reservation and a young woman who said her name is Carla made sure and double sure that I received an email confirmation with the correct information, after having made sure that we had the best possible room - handicap room immediately off the lobby, to accommodate my veteran husband's mobility issues- and the correct military discount - all this for a Labor Day weekend booking, when things are crowded and staff can get pretty overwhelmed. When we got here after an 8hr drive from Mayberry, the checkin, also by Carla, was fast and efficient, and the room we entered was spacious with lots of plugins - everything spotlessly clean. But - we had problems getting our computers to accept the wifi, so I called the lobby. Carla answered, gave me a few tips, and then on her own, decided to come to our room and help us personally. She took time, explained things, watched me to be sure I was handling it well, and after about ten minutes she had both our Macs up and running. Since I am a writer by trade, this was very important to me and I really appreciated her assistance. The motel serves a hot breakfast and has a warm swimming pool and pleasant surroundings. We will be back! Thank you, Carla and all the staff for making us feel at home.

Certification Test I had an out of town test, and rather than leave at the crack of dawn, I chose to stay in nearby Portland. The reservation was smooth, check in quick and polite. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, the dining area was shut down. However, they did offer a grab and go breakfast menu, which worked out well. Polite staff, and probably the nicest room I've ever stayed in.
