Holiday Inn San Antonio Northwest by IHG

Clammy and smells of mold throughout the hotel When we checked in, the first room we were given smelled overwhelmingly of mold. We were moved to a new room, which was not quite as bad, but was still clammy (carpet and other things were damp to the touch) and moldy, but by the second day, we couldn't take it any more. We asked to move to a different room, but were shown two other rooms that were just as bad. The whole hotel has problems--it smells of mold and damp, and it seems they have tried to reduce that by some type of cleanser which just adds a chemical smell to the mix. Part of the problem is the modern style of not allowing any windows to be opened, which means that you can't just air out the rooms. I'm guessing maybe they had a flood on the roof that got into their insulation? In any case, if you have any mold allergies at all this place is nasty. In any case, we had planned to stay a week but checked out after two days and went to a "real" hotel down the road.

Quality is not worth the price at the Holiday Inn San Antonio Northwest! I have a feeling this will get buried in the reviews but here it goes. I have stayed in this hotel about 3x a year for the last 4 or 5 yrs. The quality has been going down since that time but the price was mostly good for what you get. Just recently had my LAST stay at this hotel. Condition of the hotel and the quality of the service is not even worth the price they charged in the past. I had asked that my room be cleaned daily but was only cleaned on the first day. I asked the to clean the room while me and the family went to eat. Out for 2 hrs. Came back room was not clean and they were cleaning other rooms. Told them mine wasn't cleaned and that I had asked. Didn't happen even after the 3rd request. Everyday there was trash bagged up in a pile by the elevator. The only thing I could figure out is that people are living in this hotel full time and didn't want to walk their trash out. It looked like the aftermath of a college party. The rooms have quality issues. Carpet is damaged in spots. Some time you have hot water and not at other times. Damaged faucet handles in the tub. In general lots of little things that add up to an unpleasant experience for the price. Overall, this is a poor hotel. I have stayed in many Holiday Inns and this one is no longer on my list of possibilities. They are not worth anywhere close to what you pay for. I'm sure they will give a nice reply on how I am very important to them and that staff has been made aware of the issues. The point is if you read past reviews, these issues are still there. The positive ones must be coming from people that get paid to write reviews. I still recommend Holiday Inn, just not this one Hope this helps someone.

Wonderful overnight stay! Stayed 1 night and had a great stay! At check in, Maria was pleasant and made me feel welcomed. Hotel was clean, in a safe area, and updated. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and bathroom was very clean. Would gladly stay here again!

Great stay Stayed here for 4 nights on our Texas road trip. Used this as a base when traveling to San Antonio and the surrounding area An overall good experience. The staff was friendly, the rooms was nice and clean and they have a nice outdoor pool area.

Spacious and quiet room for family I booked a suite we r a family of 4 . Plenty of space for the kids like the other reviewer stated. Rooms are quiet and beds are comfortable so you get a good sleep. Hotel also has full restaurant n bar... didn't have a chance to try it but just an fyi. Rooms have a Keurig so that a plus if your a coffee drinker. In the mornings they have complementary coffee downstairs. Also they have a heated pool as per front desk (another fyi). Location of hotel is very convenient; it's near lots of restaurants n shopping... 10 min drive to SA zoo n downtown. 15 min to SeaWorld. 5 min to Cantera shopping mall. Staying here was a great choice for me... will definitely be staying here again.
