Great location and friendly staff Had a great stay at The Pierside, Santa Monica. Terrific location and lovely staff. A special acknowledgement to Richard, George, Manny and the lovely lady in Reception. Sorry I can't remember your name. The only negative was they seemed a bit short staffed when we were there. We needed to chase up housekeeping two of the days to make our room up and the restaurant was short staffed in the mornings and only taking small groups of people in at a time. The food however was really good and as said the staff were lovely and working really hard. I would recommend staying here

Highly recommend We went on January 7th with our two dogs when we had to evacuate our home. The hotel and it's staff could not have been nicer and we ended up staying for three nights. Room was great - had a frig and coffee maker and the food/drink at the restaurant also great - but above all the staff was friendly and accommodating- highly recommend (also it's a GREAT location to all things santa monica)

Do not stay here, poor service, poor management, you will be dissatisfied! Upon checking in for our two night stay, reception appeared to be annoyed that they had to service guests. Unhappy staff. Was told guaranteed late checkout complimentary, via booking through AMEX. Was told we had a room upgrade. Got to our room, was a downgrade from what we had originally booked. The first night we ate dinner at the in-hotel restaurant. Our waitress forgot part of the meal, the meal sizes were small and was overpriced for what we received. The next morning we went for breakfast, which was included in our stay, at the in-hotel restaurant. We stood at the service sign for 15 minutes, no one had come to seat us. We made our own way in and seated ourselves. Another 15 minutes went by before I had to ask reception if there was anyone working. A short time later we were met by a staff member who stated no one showed up for work that day and he was both the chef and waiter. We ate breakfast which was just adequate. By 3:00pm our room had still not been made up and when I went to see reception they said they would have it made up immediately. Another hour went by without this being done and when I spoke to reception again they made up lies and excuses. Our room was made up around 5:30pm. All staff appear to be disgruntled and make no effort to greet you or say hello, or try to appear happy. We have been made to feel as if it’s ruining the staff members day that guests are staying at the hotel. When checking upon our late checkout , we were told “no you have to pay a fee for that and you still can’t have it.” Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our visit to pier side hotel Our receptionist Sophia was the most kind and sweetest. Hotel and room is clean. We feel safe and welcome from the moment we step into the hotel. For those who drive. It’s valet only. Parking per day is expensive (65 usd per day) excluding tax. But it’s a price to pay for being in the heat of a touristy place.

Stay Away! Terrible place to stay! I stayed here Saturday night 11/10 with my family. First off Santa Monica is overran with homeless! We went to the McDonalds for a fast meal downstairs and there were at least 10 homeless people standing in line. Man, Santa Monica has gone down in the last 15 years, it used to be a really nice place, it's disgusting now! Now for some information on the hotel, first the parking is $65 a night!??? Also, we were charged a resort fee and it had nothing to show for to for any value for this charge, it doesn't have a pool or anything else that they could charge this. Next, the hotel is very dirty, even the rooms have a nasty feel to them and dirt markings in the tub and room walls and hallways, I didn't want to walk around with bare feet. Next, was the room service, my kids had to use the pull out sofa to sleep on, which did not have any bedding on it. Someone came up to our room shows us the bedding and walked out, I asked for help and they refused, I was pissed! I truly wanted to leave that night and ask for a refund, but we were stuck. My wife had nightmares about the homeless downstairs like the walking dead, no joke and we are from Newport Beach where there is a lot of homeless, but for some reason they are super sketchy in Santa Monica like dangerous feeling. I've never paid so much for a room just to be completely disappointed and down right pissed off about staying here, I put my family in a bad situation staying at this hotel. Stay away!!!!!! We were charged $515 for a night in hell!
