Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country – A Mixed Bag in Wine Country We just spent three nights at the Hyatt in Santa Rosa, and while there were definitely a few highlights, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to what you might expect especially if you’re a World of Hyatt member used to a certain standard. The Good: The bartender was fantastic—warm, welcoming, and made a great cocktail. The valet was very friendly, attentive and welcoming. The front desk and service staff were helpful and accommodating when we needed anything. The lobby is charming, with a cozy, boutique vibe that doesn’t feel overly corporate. Loved the hydration stations with water on every floor—it's a small touch, but a good one. The Not-So-Good: Our room had what looked like, (but of course no idea what it was) bloodstains on the ceiling—not the rustic wine country ambiance we were going for. The balcony door didn’t lock which raised some security concerns. There were ants or small spiders crawling around the room, and we ended up playing exterminator ourselves. Despite housekeeping being available daily and they even allowed us to pick either a morning or afternoon touch up we only got our room refreshed once out of three days. So no coffee, water, fresh towels etc....again not a huge deal, but something to note. The main fireplace in the lobby wasn’t working, which is kind of a bummer when you're paying a resort fee and expecting wine country coziness. Speaking of which, the resort fee felt steep given the state of the amenities. Oh, and the TV didn’t work that well in our room, and we were unable to check out in our room and had to go to the front desk and wait. Final Thoughts: The team was trying, but overall, this stay didn’t reflect the level of quality and comfort World of Hyatt members might expect. With a bit of TLC and a focus on guest room maintenance and amenity upkeep, this property could easily elevate the experience. Until then, it’s a bit of a mixed vintage—drinkable, but not quite what’s on the label.

An okay stay The staff was friendly. The room was clean, but did not have a coffee maker in it as was advertised. The location is not the best - right next to the freeway

Bad choice plus bad experience I’m genuinely shocked that Hyatt allows this property to operate under its brand. This is by far the worst Hyatt hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I even injured my right foot from broken pieces of a body lotion bottle left in the shower. I requested a blanket and asked for someone to fix the connecting room door, which couldn’t be locked. The front desk assured me someone would come shortly—but no one ever showed up, even after waiting the entire night. Absolutely unacceptable. I’m now seriously considering canceling all my upcoming Hyatt reservations for my August trip.

Disappointed with Sonoma Hyatt The front desk personnel were perfunctory. They could have been more informative about special event --(complimentary wines sponsored by local winery) the afternoon we checked in and given us useful information about the city surroundings since we have not been in Santa Rosa before. There were no cream cups for coffee, the wine cork screwer was flimsy, and our toilet seat was loose. We are Hyatt members and had better experience with other Hyatt hotels.
