No hot water, lack of customer service, pool closed, etc I needed a hotel for a wedding I was going to. There were a few choices to choose from. I chose this as it had an indoor pool. Upon arriving to hotel there were water heaters outside the front doors in shipping boxes. The Friday we got there, we were saddened the pool was closed. The room seemed clean but dust was everywhere and only half a roll of toilet paper was on the roll. We went to sleep and were annoyed due to half of curtin being sheer and the parking lot lights brightening up the room. Then, the next morning the breakfast (scrambled eggs and sausage patty) was cold, even though it was in a chaffing dish. I went back up to the room to take a shower. No hot water. I also woke up and my friend with red puffy eyes. Unsure if they wash the sheets or if it had to do with the feather pilows. No one was at front desk and I was in a hurry to go help set up this wedding. I got back to the hotel and my friend said there was still no hot water. We had to take showers for the wedding and for hygiene purposes as well. We went to wedding where other people were disappointed in not being able to take showers either. We got back to the hotel that night and I asked about the hot water as someone was finally at the desk. This young girl giggled as she said "sorry I forgot to turn it on this morning. It's all good for you to take one now." Anyways, I am very displeased. I tried to reach out to Traveluro but they were horrible and so is this hotel in refusal of a credit or refund. I could have gone to other hotels for less than half the price I paid. I am beyond disappointed and the lack of professionalism the employees at the desk have. The manager was not available when I called down and arrived at desk.

Really gone downhill We have visited Smithfield, VA at least once a year over the past 20+ years. There aren't many places to stay. This used to be one of the better places but not anymore. At check-in we weren't welcomed or recognized for being a Hilton Honors member. After check in, we were asked, "do you want your water?" Not, "here is your complimentary waters." Our room was very "weathered". The carpet was stained, the walls had holes that were visibly patched, the full length mirror that covers the closet in Hampton Inns was not there . . . It was not appealing. Was it because we used Hilton Honors points to stay there which made it a free stay? The gym was unbearably hot/humid. We were not comfortable at all and hope we won't be forced to stay here again. Think twice if you are used to Hilton and their friendliness and perfection. This didn't emulate their brand, at all. I will say that our bathroom was clean and the housekeeper was very nice. But the towels were very thin. When we were leaving and wanted to check out to make sure we weren't charged for our room, there was nobody at the front desk. They had a sign that said they would be back soon. An hour later, same thing. We called and somebody did appear. This was 5 AM in the morning but it made me feel uncomfortable knowing that somebody could've walked into the hotel while we were sleeping and came up to our floor.

Perfectly fine - close to amenities Had a pretty good stay here even tho the place was packed. There are a lot of local amenities such as a couple grocery stores and a Beall's outlet which had a replacement for a piece of luggage which fell apart. One downside is there was only one bag cart in the lobby for most of my stay which made me a little concerned there would be none available for checkout. Not sure what happened but another one did eventually show up. I'm grateful this hotel has the real full size bag carts instead of the tiny awful ones with the suit hanger right in your face so you can't see where you're going. Parking was easy, ventilation was great, bed was comfortable. I'd stay here again.

Wish There Was a Fairfield Inn in Smithfield, VA Hotel gym is closed. Business Center is closed. Nobody to help at check-in. Breakfast was bland. People are friendly that work there so not their fault. It's a poorly ran hotel that needs a lot of renovation. I'll be staying at a Marriott property next time I'm in town.
