Nice place to stay We extended our stay. The staff, Senor Omar and Senorita Ruiz were helpful. Most rooms have a nice view of the beach. The pool was great and had a great view of the beach. Walking distance to downtown. The breakfast was good. The kitchen staff prepared our breakfast to go because we had a dive early one morning

A Nice, Reasonably Priced Hotel in Tamarindo It is a nice hotel and very reasonably priced for Tamarindo. The good: * Clean smallish room * Very friendly and attentive staff * Nice well maintained pool and grounds * Pretty good included breakfast * Close to a nice beach. * Peaceful and quiet most of the time What you should consider: * It's a pretty good walk down to the main section of town (a little over 1K, Uber was 2.5 K colones) * The restaurant not open for lunch and dinner though there is a nice little Asian restaurant across the street * The walk from the reception kiosk up to the rooms is pretty long up a couple of steep hills * On Friday night when they host the rotating city party. DJ, a band and lots of rowdy intoxicated tourists. It was a nice party with an open bar for a couple of hours but don't plan on sleeping. There was no cover for hotel guests.

Good stay The hotel has a nice pool with a swim up bar. Not many lounge chairs per se but there is other seating including shaded areas. The breakfast was very good - there is a choice of 5 options. Parking was easy and secure. Surfboards and boogie boards are free for guest use. Our room had a balcony with a nice view of the ocean. Shower worked well, lots of hot water. Wifi was good. Air con was good. Cable TV had lots of channels but no english ones (tip: make sure tv input set to Cable TV). Frig and safe in room. Staff was very friendly. The room was on the small side and the bed was right against the wall making it awkward to get in and out. Pillows were terrible. Because the room faced the road, there was some noise so maybe not the best if you're a light sleeper (there are rooms at the back). The hotel is up on a hill (equivalent to maybe 2-3 flights of stairs) so you have to walk up - take this into consideration if you have mobility issues. Short walk to restaurants and the beach. There is a big party every Friday night from 9 pm to 2:30 am. Hotel guests do not pay the cover charge and there are free drinks from 9 pm to 11 pm. The event is noisy as there is a DJ and a live salsa band. You will here the music from your room so be aware if you are staying there on a Friday night.

Another great stay Another great stay at the Best Western. We have been coming to Tamarindo a few times a year since March 2021 and always stay at the Best Western. Beautifully kept grounds, great pool, and most of all the staff make you feel like family. We will never stay anywhere else. Shout out to MariCruz, Andres, Melissa, Elieth, Pichi, Marvin, Osmar, Max, Camilla, and the rest of the BW crew. Tips- -There is a loud and wild party on Friday nights. If you don’t want to participate bring a sound machine. They will give you ear plugs at check in. -The pool chairs are wooden - I bring a yoga mat to lay on top of mine when I lay out.
