Our new favorite hotel in Traverse! Cherry Tree Inn has accommodations such as an outdoor pool & hot tub, boat/water rentals, and bonfire pits that were our family's favorite feature at night. The beach is nice and not too busy. The hotel offers beach towels, has coffee and tea always available and a staff that even with shortages truly went above and beyond to answer all requests promptly. We would've loved a first floor room but there are so many ways to easily access the hotel that this did not hinder our experience as a family of 4. We cannot wait to return.

July 2021 Stay Prior to our arrival, we were extremely disappointed to learn that our room we had reserved 6 months ago for our 5 night vacation with a balcony and beach view was no longer available due to storm damage. We were moved to a smaller, interior room and given a 25% discount, but were very unhappy in this room, especially with a sink that was leaking and one of my daughters having to sleep on a couch instead of a bed. Luckily after the first day, we were told a bigger room with the balcony and beach view and 2 bigger beds opened up and we were moved. It was a bit of a hassle to move everythingnfrom one room to another, but we were greatful the staff acted so quickly to fix things for us. We ended up having a great time!

Dirty and Disappointing Honestly, it is hard to find a place to start this review. I am tempted not to review because of the old saying about not having anything nice to say…but I really don't want anyone else wasting their money at this terrible location in such a wonderful city. We recently stayed at this property with our family of 4. 2 adults and 2 kids. We love T.C. and read through many reviews before selecting this location. We are shocked at how well this place is reviewed compared to our own experience. Many people talk about cleanliness at this location, but that could not be any farther from the truth. Everything seemed to feel and appear dirty and dingy and run down. Especially the common spaces. Luckily the rooms seemed to be only slightly more attended to with regard to cleanliness, but still far from great. We also were okay in paying the relatively high price that is required here, because we were hopeful that the amenities would be worth it. However, the pools were not well maintained, the hot tubs seemed dirty with a hint of yellow/brown color to the water, the poolside bathroom was very, very dirty and uncomfortable to be in, there was a mouse running around the outside pool, the beach never seemed attended to, the seating areas in the lobby were dull and uninviting, the hotel shop was underwhelming to say the least, the lobby and staircases reeked of smoke, the breakfast was not good (we left for breakfast even though it was included), the staff did not act welcoming and did not seem eager to help the customers with anything. The fridge in our room died in the middle of the night causing all of our food to spoil and have to be thrown out. They were very difficult in acknowledging this and made it difficult to get reimbursed for the lost food. We felt like prisoners in this hotel. This made it very hard to enjoy a family trip. The general staff including the GM, Arrow, seemed uninterested and rude. Nothing was good. It is sad that this place is so expensive and so well reviewed (it seems that many of these reviews are fake/planted) PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!

Refurbishment Badly Needed Entrance, hallways, and room were rundown. Chips in paint, balcony screen not completely attached to door, bathroom fan filthy, bathroom lighting poor, old stains on room carpet. Beds were very hard. Appearance was not acceptable for price. Very disappointed in condition of this hotel.

Great Getaway/First Time Visitors We chose Cherry Tree Inn partly due to it’s proximity to the Tart Trails. We were interested in biking everyday and were not disappointed. The trails are located directly across 31 and there is a light to cross over in front of the hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and comfortable. Every staff member was professional, polite, and helpful. The grounds are well maintained, breakfast adequate and fresh, and we utilized the free shuttle several times which allowed us to avoid parking downtown during busy hours. The outdoor pool was clean and the beach always had enough chairs. Although we did not partake, it appeared families enjoyed the beachside fires at night. My only suggestion would be to have gusts “check out/check-in” beach towels to avoid the towels being left on the chairs after guests return to their rooms. (Many hotels we have stayed at require this but we understand that staffing for all establishments is a challenge at this time.). We gave a 5 STAR RATING because Cherry Tree Inn exceeded our expectations! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
