Beautiful room with a view. We loved our room. It had a great view of the harbor with a wrap around balcony. We loved our bed and pillows. Spacious and clean. The only thing was they were a bit late on our room being ready. Fortunately we were busy and it didn't affect us but it might have been frustrating if we wanted to be in our room. I think all the hotels were pretty jammed with the first CFL game being played in downtown Victoria.

Great but watch the parking charge. We loved this hotel. We stayed three nights. The location was great. The room was lovely with a nice view from the small balcony. We could see the harbour and watched the seaplanes and boats etc. The hotel team were great including going beyond in giving us plates and utensils to eat our own cooked food and washing them up for us! The shuttle service to the centre of Victoria was great. We took it in and after some tourist wandering strolled back on the harbour walk. So why only four stars? The parking charge is outrageous (I think Coast club members who book direct get a more sensible charge - so join before booking). I’d be tempted to park on the street next time. It’s a five minute walk to a residential area but looks pretty safe. Also, but not scored) We don’t watch TV on holiday) but we tried it just to check out Canadian TV). The software must be from the eighties. It’s totally non-intuitive and the picture on the decent size TV is poor.

Room full of flies After staying at the Coast Harbourside in Victoria for over 15 years, this was a very disappointing stay. We paid $550 for a night in an ocean view king premium room for my wife's 50th birthday. This room was far from premium. The bedspread had stains as did one of the bath towels and worst of all the room was full of flies!!! We awoke I the middle of the night with flies landing on us and buzzing around the bed. When we turned on the lights we counted 15 flies on the walls and ceiling. We had to spend the night under the sheets. We are now concerned about what other bugs are in the hotel rooms as we awoke with several bites. When I told the front desk about it the next morning they didn't seem surprised or concerned. Not even an offer of a discount or replacement stay! After being a loyal Coast customer for this long, I guess we expected more.

Disappointing Experience: Unprofessional Management and Underwhelming Accommodations My recent stay at Coast Hotels Victoria was unfortunately disappointing, largely due to the unprofessional conduct of General Manager Stephen Roughley and the dismissive response from Amy Alexander, Manager of Central Reservations & Distribution. The issues began with a malfunctioning air conditioning unit in our room that produced a loud, grinding noise throughout the night, severely disrupting our sleep. While I promptly reported the issue and eventually received a discount for the inconvenience, the primary concern became the dismissive and unhelpful attitude of the staff. Despite multiple attempts to address the situation directly with the General Manager, I encountered repeated delays and misleading information regarding his availability. When I finally spoke with Stephen—over 24 hours after my initial request and only after making multiple follow-up calls—his response was both condescending and unprofessional. Following this, I escalated my concerns to Coast Hotels' corporate office. Unfortunately, the response from Amy Alexander was equally disappointing. Rather than addressing the situation, she closed the case with a brief and dismissive reply. This lack of accountability is not what one would expect from a brand that claims to prioritize guest satisfaction. The room itself was fairly standard, falling short of the expectations set by the high rates. Considering the cost, other hotels in Victoria, such as Oak Bay Beach and the Fairmont Empress, offer far superior accommodations and service. The most disheartening aspect of this experience is how it contradicts Coast Hotels’ commitment to “delighting guests with friendly service and refreshing stays.” Instead, I encountered indifference, a lack of accountability, and a clear disregard for the guest experience. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to Coast Hotels and would encourage others to consider alternative options if they value respectful and attentive service.

A little bit disappointed. ☹️ We were so looking forward to our stay and this hotel. We always book a hotel with the gym, pool and hot tub. When checking in I asked a lot of questions about the fitness room and no one mentioned that it wasn’t going to be in use the very next day! In the evening I went to use the pool. Very busy and no towels in the changing rooms. When I spoke to the reception staff about it, they said: we are very busy and when we run out we need to wash the towels. I laughed out loud to her response! Like, really?! You have to wash them?! Did you expect your guests to share the towels?! And do I care?? Purchase more if you run out! Jokers! Anyway, there were no towels after 8 pm and the pool and the hot tub was open until 11. Also the hot tub is NOT a hot tub! It’s a small hot pool! There are NO jets. You basically sit in a pool full of people and hot water and everyone comments: any jets here?! When I had a conversation about the above with the front desk staff I was expecting: very sorry about these. Please have a coffee on us. Even better, have a glass of Prosecco. Or, we will offer a free parking/breakfast/drink of some sort. For the money we paid a little something would be nice. But nothing. No personal touch! I do not think we will ever book again.
