Older place recently spruced up I stayed here while attending the NorCal Celtic Festival on Main Street in downtown Woodland. The location was perfect, being as close to the Freeway as possible, and I could walk to the event. There's a Black Bear Diner and a McDonalds right there. While this hotel has seen better days, it's clear that the owners have spent money recently to spruce it up: the hallways and room had fresh paint, and the furniture in the room appeared to be new. (The furniture is a strange retro 1960s style.) The room was perfectly clean and smelled fresh. There was no cigarette or petting-zoo odor which bargain places often have. The sink, shower, toilet, and AC were all in good working order. The Wi-Fi was perfect. I felt I got great value for the money. The only negative, not enough to take away a "star", is that it's a semi-sketchy area with a few homeless people wandering around.

Poor service, no elevator, only stairs, only virtual assistant to check in and out No human assistance. Virtual assistant is pushy and rude. No assistance to help carry bags up stairs, no offer to obtain a lower room by the assistant, because "she didn't know if they had any."

35 minutes to check in? The check in experience at this hotel is beyond terrible. There is no human at the check in desk. Instead, there is a “voice” talking to you as you ENTER which turns out to be a fellow who lives in Bogota, Columbia, and who appears on a computer screen with Days Inn paraphernalia as a background. Unfortunately, but not unsurprisingly, the technology involved in checking us in did not work so the agent in Colombia was talking to ONE person on-site who was “fixing a tv on the 3rd floor”. We had to wait 35 minutes to get our keys from the human onsite. It begs the question - if there was an emergency/fire or? WHO would be there to escort the guests to safety??? This is NOT the fault of the agent in Colombia, South America or the TV repairer on-site, this is 100% CORPORATE Days Inn POLICY where clients are second class citizens and corporate profits are EVERYTHING.

Clean and simple We showed up after a long drive in the wee hours of the morning book. Two rooms. Quick service. Hot shower. Nice firm bed. Nice breakfast layout in the morning. Everything was clean and tidy and then back on the road to the family wedding. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
