Sugar Mountain is a fun 18 hole executive course located at the Sugar Mountain Golf Course facility in Banner Elk, NC. From the longest tees it features 4,560 yards of golf for a par of 64. Cedar Rock Country Club opened it’s doors in 1965. A group of local businessmen envisioned the Club and the Village of Cedar Rock with a focus on Hibriten Mountain as a centerpiece. Elizabethton is a fun 18 hole regulation course located at the Elizabethton Municipal Golf Club facility in Elizabethton, TN. From the longest tees it features 6,339 yards of golf for a par of 72. The course was designed by (R) D.J. DeVictor and opened in 1938. The course rating is 71.2 with a slope rating of 129. Elizabethton is a municipal golf course with a 'Open To Public' guest policy. Established in 1923 and designed by course architect, Russell Breeden. Marion Lake Club is the only golf course located on Lake James in McDowell County, North Carolina. Marion Lake Club is less than 5 miles from Interstate I-40, and is noted for its spectacular views of Linville Gorge and Shortoff Mountain. Set in rolling terrain with Bermuda fairways and excellent bent grass greens, Marion Lake Club is a challenge for all skill levels of golfer. Black Mountain Golf Course is located at the foot of the beautiful Black Mountain Range in western North Carolina. This 6,215-yard par 71 18-hole facility is the home to the 747-yard, par 6 17th hole, which at one time was the longest hole in the world. Bent grass greens and plush fairways add to the attraction of this great municipal golf course that is on par with some of the nicest private courses in the area. The course was opened in 1929 as a 9 hole course designed by Donald Ross and was turned into an 18 hole course when the back side was opened in 1962.

First opened for play in 1899, then redesigned in 1923 by master golf course architect Donald Ross, the 6,700 yard, par 70 layout is a shotmaker's challenge with emphasis on accuracy rather than power. From beneath the crest of Sunset Mountain, the players' ascent from the level front nine to the gentle slopes of the back nine offer spectacular views. This course is immaculately maintained and is considered one of the finest conditioned courses in Western North Carolina.Traditions of the Course: As early as 1919, British golfing greats Harry Vardon and Ted Ray made summer stops to play exhibition matches here. Since then, the greatest golfers of their era have enjoyed the course, from the immortal Bobby Jones (through two decades as a PGA Tour stop) to players such as Gene Sarazen, Walter Hagen, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead and Byron Nelson. Recent exhibitions have featured PGA stars Doug Sanders, Gene Littler, Fuzzy Zoeller and Chip Beck.
The Asheville Municipal Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in Western North Carolina. The 18-hole golf course designed by Hall of Fame golf architect Donald Ross opened for play in 1927. As in all of Ross's courses, it was designed to be challenging as well as fun. The par 36 front nine, measuring 3,246 yards from the back tees, features a flat, wide-open course allowing the use of a driver on every hole. The course is open daily to the general public, weather permitting. Tee times are required. Rental clubs are available. The clubhouse features a pro shop and a concession area. Passholder Tags are available for individuals, families, juniors and seniors.
