What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Here at 34Studio, we take pride in our unconventional, alternative style. We love to explore and create art that has never been seen or done before, and in turn the rewards are great! Being able to experience the look of awe on our clients’ face is the very thing we thrive on.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
Each student should bring a DSLR camera to each class, as well as materials for note-taking.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Traveling the world, you get to experience so many different walks of life. After seeing so many breath-taking places and people, often times I found myself reaching down to a camera that wasn’t there. Hearing those shutters going crazy was the beginning of a feeling that now, I can't live without!
What do you love most about your job?
I love the people. I love being able to see the expressions on my client’s face as they think of their big day or their little one. I love knowing that I am contributing to so much more than just a portrait hanging on a wall. I love the fact that we are able to provide unforgettable art and feeling.
Beaux Arts Photography's Sam Anise captures bold, lively photos of high-school seniors, families, children, and weddings. During each shoot, he anticipates moments, reacting to the personalities and actions of his subjects to create honest portraits entrenched in the styles of photojournalism and fashion. His laid-back, engaging personality puts models at ease while enlivening them like a squirt gun filled with hot fudge. In addition to flexing his own photography muscles, Anise teaches classes that elucidate camera anatomy, proper technique, and editing in Photoshop.

Sure, most people smile in photos. But in Brian Hilson's portraiture work, his subjects' smiles are so natural and radiant that they don't look posed—it looks like he caught them in a moment of genuine happiness. This is likely in part to his mission to give each project "a fresh perspective instead of applying a formula," one that has led to his pictures being seen everywhere from local bars to Zagat.com. He's worked with food, street fashion, headshots, and bridal work and is currently focusing on LGBT weddings. He also leads classes in photography and software such as Photoshop.
Whether she’s snapping shots of Lil Wayne’s sparkling grin, the urban landscape of Detroit, or the Arab American National Museum, photographer Asia Hamilton inspires people to view the world from a new perspective. Her photography raises awareness on issues of waste and consumption, and strives to unmask the beauty hidden in a cityscape.
When she’s not on a globetrotting, eye-opening adventure, she’s teaching aspiring photographers at her studio, Nozomi Live Photography & Design. She demystifies photography concepts such as lighting and composition before taking shutterbugs out on urban excursions, where they can practice techniques in the bustling city. She helps her protégés feel more comfortable using their cameras’ manual settings, making the picture-snapping devices feel like an extension of their bodies without duct tape or cybernetic surgery.
