Check out Boston's Dance Republic.
Prepare to face the crowds if you visit on the weekend — Friday and Saturday are Dance Republic's busiest days.
At Dance Republic, diners can score a guaranteed parking spot close to the restaurant.
Delicious food doesn't have to be expensive, as shown by the delicious fare coming out of Dance Republic's kitchen.
As one longtime student says, "Jess doesn't care if you have three left feet." And it's probably this supportive and congenial attitude that earned?her spots on?Boston A-List as?Best Zumba Class?and RateYourBurn as one of the??10 Best Zumba Instructors for 2012. She approaches the dance-fitness hybrid sessions as a "feel-happy" workout, helping students of all experience levels feel welcome regardless of their natural rhythm. She only offers drop-in sessions, allowing students to come when it's convenient for them or when they've accidentally?sleepwalked? to the studio again.
When Roald Dahl wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he imagined a much-coveted golden ticket that granted access to myriad wonders and unveiled the inner workings of an entire industry. MetaBody created a real-life version of that ticket with the MetaBody Yoga & Fitness Pass, though it applies to fitness instead of candy. The pass grants access not to a single gym but to classes at a variety of local studios, specializing in everything from yoga to boot camp. With the freedom to move from location to location, students can sample different regimens, instructors, and styles of exercise to cobble together a program that fits their needs and goals. MetaBody's nutritionists supplement class packages by coaching clients in healthy eating, recipe cooking, and speed-reading nutrition-fact labels.
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Fen and David are a wife/husband team that love teaching Zumba to anyone who wants to get fit, or loves to dance.
Since we teach together, new participants get double the attention during class. This can make it easier for participants to follow along during class and learn new dance moves quickly.
Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged?
We keep clients motivated with upbeat songs. We also make sure our routines are easy to follow even for people who don't have a dance background. Great songs plus dance moves that are easy to follow is the secret to Zumba's success.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
We wanted to partner with the River South Center, which is a community center dedicated to impacting society in a positive way. Offering Zumba classes at The River South Center is a way for us to help impact society by helping people get fit and have fun in the process.

Honore Laflamme, owner of Jubilation, espouses a simple fitness philosophy: "As long as you are moving, sweating, and smiling, you are doing it right," she says. She describes her mission as making exercise fun. She couches hard work such as Zumba, yoga, and Pilates in an energetic atmosphere of low lighting and funky tunes that are akin to "being at a party with your friends." She leads every class in a space with a suspended wooden floor, which helps absorb impact to lessen the strain on joints and avoid bothering the mole people that live downstairs.
The success of Zumba, the Latin-inspired dance-fitness program, begged for spinoff workouts. Today eight Zumba variations exist, seven of which are taught by the licensed instructors at The Z Spot. The troupe teaches original Zumba, as well as Zumba Toning, Zumba in the Circuit, Zumba Gold for seniors, Zumba Kids for youngsters, Zumba Sentao for an intense core workout with a chari, and, at an offsite facility, Aqua Zumba. Each workout engages exercisers with a mix of energetic rhythms, continuous motion, and support from other exercisers in the group.
