Vintage Market Days organizers Amy Scott and Dianna Brown discovered an interest in vintage bazaars at a young age. As a child, Dianna frequented neighborhood garage sales to find items that she repurposed into decorations for her "pretend house." Meanwhile, Amy visited the Tulsa Flea Market with her mother and great-aunt, who collected Depression glassware and helped her start her own vintage collections.
As adults, Amy and Dianna organize upscale vintage events several times a year at indoor and outdoor locations throughout Oklahoma. In turn, franchisees have brought these shopping extravaganzas to at least eight other states. Shoppers can examine architectural salvage, peruse vintage home-decor items, or drape themselves in clothing and jewelry from yesteryear so they won't stand out as a tourist on time-traveling trips. And to complement the vintage wares, vendors also sell original art and handmade jewelry.
Founded by cellist Kenneth Freudigman and violist Emily Watkins Freudigman in 2004, Camerata San Antonio brings together a symphonic roster composed of several of the San Antonio Symphony's principal players and more than a few internationally recognized musicians. More than a dozen acclaimed artists might be on-call for a concert during any given season, and the entourage's diverse concert schedule consequently offers plenty of strikingly different small-ensemble performances.

Like the small town of Albert in the Texas Hill Country, what the Albert Ice House & Dance Hall lacks in size it makes up for in heart and history. Originally built in 1922 as community dance hall featuring German brass bands, the dance hall is now a vibrant gathering place for friends where live Texas music reigns king. The slated wood walls feature classic roadhouse decor with road signs, beer paraphernalia, and a hodgepodge of framed vintage photos. The spacious dance floor is anchored by a raised wood stage that hosts country bands and cover artists. Guests can take a break from stomping their boots to lounge in the beer garden, throw some horseshoes or washers, or watch a game on the big screen TV. And for dancers that have worked up an appetite, The Albert Pig Pen now serves food including burgers, grilled ribeye, and pork belly.
