What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Since 1998, CMQ instructors have been teaching a wide range of instruments and styles, as well as theory and ear-training. Instructors are passionately dedicated to the musical and mental development of their students, some of whom have won national competitions and gone on to study at Juilliard.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
All of our 7 teaching studios have upright and grand pianos, as well as sheet music available for purchase. Students should have their own instruments to practice on at home, and we are happy to recommend where/how to find your instrument. Most teachers use take-home teaching/practice journals.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Our goal is to bring the gift of music to students in the Aurora area, and foster the musical/artistic community in Colorado.
Music lessons are key to creative, computational, and emotional development (it is the only activity that stimulates every area of the brain) as well as being super fun!

Laura Monahan comes from an artistic family, and spent her youth practicing sculpture, oil painting, pottery, and what turned out to be her ultimate passion: photography. Her ability to preserve candid moments has left an indelible impression—she has a published portfolio on three continents and product lines appearing at national retailers such as Hallmark and JCPenney. Laura’s photo shoots always take place outdoors, capturing newborns, older kids, and families in soft, natural lighting and poses that never appear unnatural. Her settings span the country from San Diego’s foamy beaches to Denver’s red-rock sunsets and into the Midwest’s autumn leaves, and she holds mom's night out events all over the country, including in Honolulu, San Diego, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Denver.
For a small business, Riveting Frame & Design’s staff boast an impressive resumé: two members are artists—one of whom has a fine-arts degree—and the team has nearly a half-century of combined experience. Customers can meet with these experts at the store, where they will receive same-day quotes that detail all the possible design options. Working with the team, clients then choose a design from an extensive selection of frames, mouldings, mats, and fillets; with staff using computerized mat cutting to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Riveting outfits delicate artworks or especially successful peach cobblers in conservation framing, and the shop sells original and fine art, mirrors, canvas prints, and giclées.
Rocky Mountain Audio/Video Productions plucks your ideas from the air and develops them into reality. The full-service video production company has been in business since 1982, before DVDs were invented and when the human eye could only detect three colors. Over the years, though, RMAVP has grown alongside technology, and, today, it touts a portfolio packed with vibrant productions for broadcasters, corporations, and independent clients. The company also provides audio studio recording, media streaming for the web, and video duplication services that transfer old forms of video to more modern sources.
