CrossFit Stallings offers workouts based on functional movements and open to all fitness levels. During any given workout, coaches guide members through dead lifts and squats, push-ups, gymnastics dips, rope climbs, kettlebell swings, and sprints. By easily adjusting the weights, reps, and intensity, coaches make sure each person is equally challenged. The custom routines benefit classes filled with seasoned athletes and fitness newbies, and special CrossFit classes focus on working out teens and kids as young as age 3.
Breakaway Sports is a full-service indoor athletics arena. The rink hosts recreation leagues and competitive tournaments for inline hockey, often with teams coming in from all parts of the country to compete. They also schedule public skating sessions on Friday and Saturday nights, which can be a fun activity for friends or a more aerobically effective date activity than polishing your butter-knife collection. When skaters and hockey players give up the rink, they make way for indoor sports such as soccer, lacrosse, and volleyball as well as birthday parties. Breakaway is also equipped with meeting rooms that have TVs and WiFi.
Gymnastics rings, a tattered American flag, and a floor-to-ceiling climbing rope make the gym at CrossFit 704 look more like an Olympic training facility. Within its walls, CrossFit-certified trainers lead new workouts every day that they design to incorporate functional movements from everyday life?from lifting and throwing to carrying and running. Though the workouts (known as Workouts of the Day, or WODs) change every day, they could often incorporate exercises such as running, weight lifting, dips and pull-ups on gymnastics rings, or other dynamic exercises such as heaving kettlebells.
World Gym maintains its 35-year legacy of body-sculpting know-how at its various globe-spanning locations, jump-starting workout routines with cardio equipment, free weights, and more than 10 weekly exercise classes. Taught by certified trainers, typical classes range from yoga to spin to calorie-torching Zumba dance parties. Many of the gyms cater to families, too, with colorful childcare centers that keep youngsters entertained and supervised during parental workouts.
The staff at Omni Health and Fitness Center works to make the gym a one-stop shop for its members' fitness needs. The club's impressive inventory aids in this pursuit, with more than 75 cardio machines, tens of thousands of pounds of free weights, and strength-training equipment from Life Fitness. Parents can drop their youngsters off at the kids' zone or children's nursery before pumping iron or grabbing a spot in the cardio cinema room, which, like Jack LaLanne’s living room, allows people to work out while enjoying a movie in surround sound. The gym's trainers, meanwhile, lead one-on-one workouts as well as group fitness classes such as Pilates and Body Pump. After exercising, members can refuel at the juice bar.
At GenXCrossFit, trainers take clients of any body type or fitness level under their wings, helping them build muscle and burn fat with high-intensity CrossFit techniques. Students eschew treadmills and weight machines for functional exercises of rope climbing, pull-ups, push-ups, rowing, and sprinting that build physiques as sleek as they are strong and healthy.
