What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Community Business College has received awards for its attention to its clients' needs.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
When we started
20 years ago, the plan was to use our expertise to help others, especially those who were vulnerable and going through the job hut process, which can be a nerve wracking experience.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part of the job is hearing feedback from our successful clients. One even sent our staff a "thank you pizza" after she started her new job.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
The best customer feedback we've received is from a client who thought the worst thing that happened to her in her life was getting laid off from a job she had for 30 years. She came back and told us it's the BEST thing that happened because she got a job with an adoption agency making families.
The upbeat exercise enthusiasts at Kid Time Fitness steer tykes into tip-top shape by leading an array of fun and active recreational classes. Through 40 weekly sessions, the CPR- and first-aid-certified staff helps pintsize patrons of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels develop new skills and uncover dormant passions, such as dance, gymnastics, yoga, or competitive napping. During For The Boys, instructors teach boys hip hop, tumbling, and breakdancing to a fast-paced beat. Gym-Fit, yoga, hip-hop, cheer, ballet, music, and art round out the roster of classes, which is more jam-packed with activities than Leonardo da Vinci’s secret lab, where to this day he still writes software applications to teach children art lessons. Kid Time Fitness also offers adult programs.
Of the 12 music teachers at Barker's Music, most have taught there for more than 18 years. So all of the instructors have plenty of experience teaching their chosen instrument. Music lessons cover piano, guitar and bass, violin, drums, harmonica, and voice. But the staff members also demonstrate their musical expertise in other ways, including tuning pianos and repairing guitars. And party hosts can call upon the Kyle Barker Band, which plays events ranging from birthdays to going-away parties for your noise-sensitive neighbors.
Brimming behind a curved glass exterior, painstakingly crafted bisque pieces perch on sleek black squares while original drawings and paintings cascade across the light-strewn walls of The Chartreuse Muse. Inside, local artists showcase their pièces de résistance and helm classes in the dynamic space's art school. Sessions for all ages and levels tackle a bevy of media, such as clay, charcoal, and acrylic paints, and inspire students to draw, paint, or create mixed-media collages of their tax-return documents.
