  • Metropolitan Gymnastics
At Metropolitan Gymnastics, gravity isn't an obstacle. With help from head coach Yulia Hancheroff, a former member of the Soviet National Power Tumbling team and holder of a degree in Sports Medicine, students learn to flip in the air, swing in a 360-degree loop around a bar, and soar over a vault. The studio's gymnastics lessons teach kids and adults how to perform these feats starting with simple coordination skills in the pre-school program and progressing through the junior olympic level.

  • Auburn Gymnastics
Since its founding in 1997, Auburn Gymnastics has grown to an enrollment of more than 800 students who flip and spring on competitive teams, learn basic skills in just-for-fun classes, and tumble through obstacle courses during birthday parties. Auburn's alums include state, regional, and national champions, as well as two members of the Junior Olympic National team. But less competitive students are welcome as well, especially during the gym's open-play sessions, when preschool-aged kids and older can burn through excess energy and practice their skills on the gymnastics equipment.

I started gymnastics when I was young and then started coaching, as I loved the sport and didnt want to leave it. I opened my own gym 11 years ago and have loved working with children. We are a non-competitive gym because I feel, after competing myself as a child, that too many hours in the gym isn't healthy. But gymnastics is a great sport. It helps in every other sport and is fun. What is one fun, unusual fact about your business? That we are a non-competitive gym with seven Exhibition teams that perform at schools. The teams ... range in age from five years old through High School. What special training do you or your staff have? Myself and several staff members are USA gymnastics members and have been to USA national congress several times. [We are] also first aid and CPR certified. Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover? Our gym is a fun, and we teach in a loving and fun atmosphere. We love all children regardless of their age, size, or skill level.
