TIME 4 YOU Fiscal and Physical Fitness is a business with the rare double mission of training your body and your wallet at the same time. Their workouts have a goal that might seem strange at first: the trainers want their clients to be in the gym for as little time as possible. They're not lauding minimal effort, though; they simply want their clients to spend as much time in nature as possible, so they train them outdoors. After a sweat session, they can sit down with clients and offer an opinion on their investment portfolios, just like famed investment banker Jack LaLanne.

J Running puts an extra spring in athletes' steps with its unique racing events. These runs range in distance from breezy 5Ks to slightly less breezy half-marathons, held in scenic locals around Marin County. Most races are themed as well, including a costumed Monster Dash for Halloween, a sporty singles mixer on Valentine's Day, and a birds-only jog on Thanksgiving.
As Ross Valley CrossFit states on their website, they’re focused on creating a workout that’s “productive, not destructive.” That said, the IGNITE! Training Program is intense, and the trainers push their students to the limit during daily workouts populated with a variety of challenging but functional movements and exercises. Through the use of intuitive movements such as pushing, running, and pressing, they prepare class participants for anything the day can throw at them, from hauling groceries to fireman-carrying a large person, running a marathon, or climbing a mountain. They mix up routines each day to keep things interesting; students may perform pushups and deadlifts one session before swinging kettlebells and running sprints the next. Paired with nutritional advice, workouts help those of all ages and fitness levels slim down, enhance agility and flexibility, and build brawn across all muscle groups.
Capes, masks, and tights aren't the usual attire for runners in a race, but the Totally Super Awesome Really Really Fun Run isn't the usual Fun Run. This superhero-themed race sends its costumed crusaders running around a run through a smile mile and bubble zone, and features a combination of paved road course on the 1-mile route and a challenging climb through cross-country terrain along the 5k course. At the finish line, runners can join in the fun with a family-friendly post-race celebration complete with refreshments and activities. A portion of the race's proceeds benefits the Friends of San Anselmo Parks and Recreation.
