What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I started this company to share the thrill of exploring new trails, surfing, cliff jumbing and enjoying intricacies of nature with visitors to Oahu. I realized how much time it takes to plan and do adventurous things and we make that easier for visitors and locals. We want you to live the adventure.
What do you love most about your job?

There's a lot more to Hele Huli Adventure Center's Segway tours than just rolling along paved surfaces. Atop these two-wheeled, self-balancing devices, groups get to see everything from Hawaiian monk seals sunning themselves to a World War II airstrip and its surrounding bunkers. And these tours of Kahuku are just one of the center's potential itineraries. The company's adventure experts also treat locals and guests of the Turtle Bay Resort to activities including horseback riding, surfing lessons, and kayak tours.

For 29 years, The Watercraft Connection has been helping locals and tourists alike explore the waters of Oahu. The family behind the business sends guests into a harbor nestled in the historic surf town of Haleiwa. There, folks board jet skis, ocean kayaks, or chartered boats and head out to explore the beaches of nearby Ali'i Beach, Puaena Point, or Anahulu river.
Getting a close look at local flora and fauna is a big part of these expeditions. Customers can glimpse green sea turtles and wild peacocks while kayaking down the Anahulu, or spot dolphins and whales while lounging on chartered cruises. Diving and snorkeling trips offer a deeper perspective on coral reefs, sea creatures, and the pirates who evolved gills sometime in the 1700s.
All services for Hawaiian Watersports are provided by Pa'ani Wai Hawai'i is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization. Our mission is to teach safe practices and techniques for recreational ocean users in the water sports of kayaking, kiteboarding, stand up paddling, surfing, windsurfing, body boarding, skim boarding, free diving and snorkeling. We also teach stewardship and conservation of our shared beaches, ocean and islets.
Our professional team of lifeguard, first aid and CPR certified Instructors has been actively teaching safe ocean sport practices for 25 years. In addition, we are the only world-renown IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) school on O’ahu, with the largest staff of IKO-certified kiteboarding instructors on hand. This means we can adapt to your learning style and change our strategy to get you to be an independent waterman, waterwoman or watergrom (kid)!
We are located next to Kailua Bay, on the windward side of the island of Oahu, Hawaii, rated as one of the best beaches in the world by Dr. Leatherman (aka Dr. Beach) and Conde Naste magazine. We offer services 7 days a week (including Sundays!) and most holidays (but not Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day, thank you!).
