How do you get me ready for the experience? Imagine Cinemas Frederick is a newly renovated, two-screen movie theatre that holds a total of 465 patrons in two theatres. Recent upgrades include an all-new DIGITAL projection and surround sound, enhanced seating with extra leg room (seats were purchased from the famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood when they converted that theatre to IMAX). All lobby areas were refurbished with new paint and carpeting and new digital information signage. This particular theatre has historically catered to families and will continue in this tradition by showing the latest first-run family movies at a discount price. What is the experience customers can expect, and how do you make it special? Cleanliness and customer service are the two values that set Imagine Cinemas apart from their larger, corporate competition. We try to make every guest experience special. What’s your favorite part of your job? Making people smile by over-delivering on the experience.

  • Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony
The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony was founded out of necessity; in 1945, the Grand Philharmonic Choir was preparing a recital and needed tuneful accompaniment for the harmonic voices. Once its backup duty was over, however, the newly convened orchestra quickly established itself as an independent source for both classical and pops concerts performing more than 100 concerts annually in the Waterloo region. Now home to 52 on-staff musicians, the orchestra continues its decades-long tradition at venues around Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, and Cambridge. From his position as music director, Edwin Outwater oversees the joyful noise, which ranges from baroque to Beethoven to the Beatles and Broadway. Since assuming the role in 2007, Outwater has been one of the orchestra's most vigorous boosters, arranging the group's first commercial recording in a decade, engineering an exploration of prog rock in collaboration with the Institute for Quantum Computing, and knitting sweaters for each musician's instrument.

  • Western Mustangs
Consistent winners of multiple provincial championships, the Western Mustangs charge the fields, courts, pools, rinks, and mats of their opponents in an endless pursuit of victory. Clad in purple, silver, and white, student athletes across more than 30 men's and women's varsity programs—including badminton, baseball, curling, hockey, and squash, among others—regularly rake in titles. Just for example, the cheerleading squad absolutely dominated from 1985 to 2006, winning 22 consecutive crowns before picking the streak back up two years later. In addition, the football team has appeared in the most Vanier Cup national championships of any team, making it to the title game 12 times and winning six times. During games, the massive university marching band plays along with the action, keeping the crowd going with the Western Mustangs Fight Song and shouting trick-play calls through their tubas.
