Cho Cho San Japanese Restaurant
Dining in a traditional Japanese home, one might expect to find understated décor and a meal composed of clean, authentic flavors. That’s what Cho Cho San recreates in the heart of New York City. Chefs build pure flavor profiles by deep-frying organic fermented natto and topping it with a fragrant plum sauce. From behind a counter, a team of sushi chefs slices fresh yellowtail and spicy tuna, and creates specialty rolls such as the Wall Street Roll—a combination of white tuna, spicy tuna, avocado, caviar, and gold flakes. Block-printed textiles and paintings of samurais dapple the dining room walls; decorative tree branch hovers above them, and helps waiters swing from table to table.
