PADI-certification course imparts open-water scuba skills over course of two weekends & adventure course builds specialized skills
Scuba diving is the only way left to find hidden treasure, befriend a nautical skeleton, or strap a huge tank to yourself. Explore the possibilities with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $199 for a semiprivate PADI Open Water Diver certification course (a $575 value)
- $389 for a semiprivate PADI Open Water Diver certification course plus an Adventure Diver course (a $1,175 value)

Beach Cities Scuba’s semiprivate Open Water Diver course is imparted over the course of two weekends, which can be consecutive or spread out to fit each student’s schedule. After a brief Wednesday-night orientation, the first weekend starts with a classroom session, which covers the basics of equipment usage and quizzes students on the Latin names of all known fish, before taking to the safe confines of a pool. Four subsequent dives take place in the open ocean, giving each student the chance to dive off the edge of a boat or from the beach.

After students achieve certification, the Adventure Diver course unveils new concepts and techniques in different diving environments. Groupon customers choose three separate adventure dives in specializations such as night diving, wreck diving, and underwater videography. Students must provide their own mask, snorkel, fins, and golden diving monocle, which can be brought from home or purchased at a discount through Beach Cities Scuba’s store.
