  • $50 for Bridal Crawl admission for four ($100 value)

The Bridal Crawl begins at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, when both women and men seize the chance to be queen for a day by dressing up in wedding dresses and veils from any culture. They will congregate at Galvez Restaurant on the Mississippi River in an attempt to break the world record for largest gathering of brides.

From there, the pub crawl kicks off as white-clad revelers travel to French Quarter bars for prearranged food and drink specials. Participating venues include Coyote Ugly, 55 Fahrenheit, the Beach on Bourbon, and Bourbon Cowboy, which will offer free mechanical bull rides. Wedding cake will be provided by Swiss Confectionery.

The event raises money for Covenant House, which serves teens and young adults who are at risk or homeless.

Creativity Collective

The Creativity Collective is as focused on philanthropy as it is on art. Ever since its 2008 launch in Klamath Falls, Oregon, the organization has been fusing these two interests into ambitious projects, starting with a multimedia veterans' history project. Its subsequent productions have always featured a society-driven viewpoint, whether its members are staging an elaborate haunted house for the community or making a documentary about a local high school. In 2012, the Collective made the move from Oregon to New Orleans in an effort to expand its reach. There, its artists and supporters have continued their community-focused creative mission, organizing a book club, hosting arts networking opportunities, establishing fundraisers like the Bridal Crawl, and setting up Flash Mob events, where participants may gather to perform a dance routine in public. At that theatrical event, a large collection of brides (or just regular women and men dressed in bridal apparel) enjoy dancing and drink specials at bars across town. Each year, the Bridal Crawl raises funds for a new cause, whether it's a job-training program for at-risk youth or a haven for homeless teens and young adults.
