Like a box of fine china or a man covered in ants, cocktails just beg to be shaken. Stir up the nightlife with today's Groupon: for $15, you get one admission to a Sunday Funday event series party, hosted from 7 p.m.–9 p.m. at Datz Tampa on MacDill Avenue. Choose from the following events:
- American Bounty with Sam Adams, April 3
- Napa Style with Caymus Family of Wines, April 17
- And They're Off!, May 1
- Keeping it Local with Cigar City Brewery, May 15
- Summer White Party, June 5
- Shaken, Not Stirred, June 19
Datz Tampa combines a deli, wine bar, bakery, and food market into one establishment of culinary specialties. Typically closed on Sunday evenings, the American gastropub is opening its doors to host a series of Groupon-exclusive themed tasting events featuring craft beers, wines, and fancy cocktails. For all-American noshing, RSVP to an evening with Sam Adams Brewery, where guests sip five ferments, chew on corn dogs, sliders, and red-velvet funnel cakes, and take home a curvaceous beer glass styled in the boston lager tradition. The Caymus wine mixer lets guests pair four different grape elixirs with californian flatbreads and fish tacos; the Datz derby day affair, And They're Off!, fills hands with bourbon cocktails, brains with horse trivia, and mouths with selections from a southern-style grits bar; and Cigar City Brewery showcases local beers served with house-made sausages, artisanal chocolates, and actual chocolate sausages. Make a delicate entrance into summer via the Winebow White Party, where sangrias and white-bean hummus blend in with guests arriving in all white (guests dressed in all white will be eligible for door prizes and giveaways). The series concludes with the Empire Distillery's James Bond-themed Shaken, Not Stirred event, featuring its own V6 Vodka, used in martinis, and helpings of caviar.
Datz Tampa’s expansive, attractively bricked, and wood-floored interior is filled with canned products, wine bottles galore, and the charming sounds of live music being danced to by customers and pirouetting elephants.
