The silver screen comes to seductive, three-dimensional life in Cinema Burlesque!, Yadi’s tribute to tinseltown. Hosted by Lili Vonschtupp, the self-proclaimed “foul-mouthed buxom godmother of LA burlesque,” the evening features fellow scantily-clad stars including Burlesque Hall of Famer Lux LaCroix and Miss Viva Las Vegas 2010 Ruby Champagne. Armed with shimmies and wit, those performers transform films such as Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Saturday Night Fever, Machete, and the Saw franchise into sizzling spectacles, heavy on the charm and the sequins, but light on the clothes and that powder you can put on your popcorn to make it taste like nachos.

Since the company’s inception, performers with names like Meowberry Deathly, Lady Josephine, and Dolly Danger have conjured titillating, vaudevillian versions of Night of the Living Dead and Grease, and have even taken on the songs of Johnny Cash. Over the course of a single show, cast members shimmy out of their clothes, shake off their autumn leaves, play characters of opposite genders, and pay tribute to pop culture with equal amounts of kitsch and artistry.
