Menopause the Musical
Menopause the Musical has painted a vivid, rib-tickling portrait of four women confronting the troubles of middle age for audiences in hundreds of cities all over the world. The show tells the story of four strangers, meeting by chance at a department-store lingerie sale, who begin to commiserate on the travails of menopause, including hot flashes, mood swings, and spontaneously breaking out in song-and-dance routines. Parodying a suite of hits from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, the musical’s jaunty tunes encourage dialogue about women’s health while eliciting copious chortles of recognition from guests.
Luxor Hotel and Casino
It’s already a restaurant, hotel, casino, and big shiny pyramid, but Luxor isn’t content to be just four things at once. With the Atrium Theatre, the complex adds entertainment to the mix, bringing together world-class performers and events from around the country. Illusionist Criss Angel partners with Cirque du Soleil for a gripping spectacle, dance group Jabbawockeez spins and flips across the stage, and comedian Carrot Top coaxes laughs from the audience, then stores them for later in his hair. Not all entertainment comes in performance form, however; traveling collections have included BODIES…The Exhibition and a trove of artifacts from the Titanic.
