Really great food. Interesting- a little bit on the pricey side, but I'm willing to pay it for quality ingredients and thoughtful, sustainable food.
  • Eco-friendly restaurant
  • Local liquor & beer
  • Uses "farm to table" food co-op

Scientists agree that consuming a stiff drink while eating a hearty meal is far more enjoyable than playing a game of hoagie charades while wearing beer goggles. Inhale the real deal with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of American fare and drinks at INdustri Cafe, located in historic Walker's Point.

INdustri Cafe's menu bequeaths diners with farm-to-table feasts garnished by localized liquors and Wisconsin brews. Food-fiends can freshen palates by nibbling on the cucumber sliders ($7) before devouring an updated PB&J sandwich, which is stuffed to the gills with sea-salt kettle chips and smothered with house-made cashew butter and forest berry jam ($8). For heartier fare, the stout beer braised corned beef hash and eggs ($14) slays disturbing hunger mirages, and the meatloaf stuffed with polish sausage ($14) sends meat-depraved appetites packing. If your second stomach is full by meal's end, attempt to borrow further to a third one in order to enjoy chocolate-chip cookies ($6) with cappuccino gelato or the INdustri white parsnip cake ($7).

INdustri shelters patrons with an inviting space that embodies Milwaukee's agricultural, artistic, and manufacturing industries. Sidle up to the bar to sip a Sprecher Abby Triple draft ($5) or play rousing renditions of woodland fight songs with a bottle of Lakefront IPA ($5). INdustri also swills specialty cocktails such as the surly temple, which blends sloe gin with house-infused wild-berry Rehorst vodka press ($8), or the apple julep, with mint, tart apples, apple syrup, and Jim Beam bourbon on the rocks ($9).

Reviews

Eight Yelpers give INdustri Cafe an average of four stars:

  • The first thing you'll notice about INdustri Cafe is the vibe.   Low key and comfortable, with a staff that aims to please. – Lori F., 1/10/11
  • The food was different enough to warrant a return for me. The meatloaf was great and the bloody marys huge. And, as others have said, great service. – Christopher M., 1/12/11

About INdustry Cafe

INdustri Cafe evokes local industry in more than its name—its New American menu prizes local ingredients , and it’s served in a rustic warehouse-style space hung with the work of local arts. The bistro brings fine dining out of the realm of diamond-encrusted waiters in order to bring the delicate flavors of lobster, pulled-duck, and truffle oil to a wider audience. The menu shifts with the seasons, but diners can expect to find American favorites graced with a gourmet touch—burgers topped with sautéed apple and poblano barbecue sauce, for instance. Serious Eats found that burger " juicy and rich and well seasoned" with toppings that "all worked together in total harmony."

Weathered wood and exposed brick surround the dining room at INdustri, which is illuminated by rows of bright globe lights. Another level of seating sits atop the bar’s canopy, while beneath it patrons sip from a beer list that only includes Wisconsin brews.
