Miniature golf succeeded in making a luxury sport accessible to the masses, unlike miniature polo, which only resulted in a surplus of tiny useless ponies. Enjoy a long day of short-distance links with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get four mini-golf passes and two popcorn combos at Jungle Golf in Virginia Beach (up to a $48 value). The passes grant customers play until 6 p.m.

For more than 40 years, fun-seeking families have found a blend of sport and safari at Jungle Golf. The 18-hole course is populated with replicas of equatorial animals, challenging putters to aim their orbs around the hooves of a giant giraffe and through the meaty mitts of King Kong's cousin. Leave the machete in the car and clear foliage with a rented putter, admiring the course's cascading waterfall and fine brick edging while questing for the Golden Tee machine said to be buried beneath it.

Golfers can take a break from the tropical-themed links in the arcade and game room or enjoy a refreshing respite at the air-conditioned snack hut. The Groupon includes two medium fountain drinks with the popcorn combos, providing an infusion of energy before golfers head back out to the course.

Rates for children (4–8 years) and seniors are slightly cheaper than regular rates, and Jungle Golf offers a coupon online. However, this Groupon still provides the best deal for everyone.

Jungle Golf

Located at the oceanfront, Jungle Golf's aptly named mini-golf course pits putters against a slew of jungle-themed obstacles. As golfers traverse the 18-hole labyrinth, they must contend with breaking putts, keep their distance from the silverback gorilla statue guarding the second hole, stay dry underneath the misting waters of the fifth hole's rocky waterfall, and bribe a life-sized zebra statue to neigh during their opponent’s backswing. In-between rounds, golfers can refuel with treats from the Food Hut or head to the game room for more shrinked-down activities, such as air hockey, skee-ball, and crane-games' simulations of loading 2-ton plush rabbits onto freighter ships.
