The was great and Tony made sure we had an awesome experience onboard. He even snagged a big king and shared his catch. Most people caught something and had a great time.

Four-hour excursion takes participants 2 miles offshore to fish for tuna, snapper, grouper, and king mackerel among natural reefs

Fishing is the ultimate prank because the fish think they are getting food and then are immediately yanked into a world they cannot understand. Bait and switch with this Groupon.

$22 for a Four-Hour Drift-Fishing Excursion ($45 Value)

Over the course of each drift-fishing excursion, passengers scour for fish such as bonito, tuna, snapper, grouper, king mackerel, and mahi-mahi while up to 2 miles out from Fort Lauderdale Beach. Species' migration patterns change seasonally, allowing visitors to try for a new catch at different times of year. The captain may pass on his own fishing expertise during the trip and equips each passenger with tackle, bait, and coolers. Trips depart at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

At the age of 5, Captain David Ide had already navigated the back canals of South Florida in his own 8-foot motored dinghy. Over the years, the sea tugged at him even more; he amassed fishing knowledge by talking to locals on the docks during his family's annual trips to the Bahamas, and at the age of 15 he began working on the fuel docks at Lauderdale Marina. The following year, he was asked to compete in his first professional fishing tournament. Though he sometimes still competes, Captain David spends most of his time aboard the US Coast Guard-licensed _Lady Pamela II_—leading drift-fishing trips around South Florida's natural reefs and shipwrecks,

The 41-foot custom-built and tournament-ready Hatteras boasts a 15-foot beam, air-conditioned bridge, and refrigerators, as well as ample electronics for detecting fish and any ghost ships before they rise from the ocean. At this vessel's helm, Captain David pilots passengers armed with rods, tackle, and various types of bait out to distances of 2, 10, or up to 20 miles from shore on extended daytime and nighttime trips. Groups may hunt in search of small targets such as tuna, snapper, grouper, and mahi-mahi, or larger quarry such as broadbill swordfish and hammerhead or bull sharks.
